People generally don't pay much attention to Ultraman.

Only because most of it doesn't have Region 1 subbed or dubbed DVD releases.

They used to pay attention to it in the 60s and early 70s, where most of the series of that time got dub jobs. It just died down because of the popularity of the Toku that overtook it combined with the fact that the series is now living almost solely on movies. Despite that, it still has more Region 1 releases than SS and KR combined, IIRC. It's a clique within a clique so they're hard to track down, but yeah.

I'm sure that's not true. It would've been gone years ago if that was so.

Irrelevant plus people were once buying out the bootlegs.

Not really irrelevent. Most people don't bother with Japanese entertainments if they aren't dubbed. Plays a big part in why it isn't bigger over on this side of the pond.

which makes me disappointed a little. I take sub over dub any day.

At this point, I'd take either where Ultraman is concerned. It's pretty difficult trying to find copies of all the series with good subs. Stupid legal difficulties Tsubaraya is having is what's stopping us from getting Region 1 releases.

Was mostly referring to the online fandom. Even when we had that run of Nexus, Max, and Mebius on TV, people hardly ever spoke about the franchise.

Anywho - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpBZbcQSI7s

There's a trailer out for Ultraman Saga now, actually featuring Ultraman Saga. Annd now for some pictures:
http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/7...b65f471228.jpg - Cosmos' actor returns
http://i.imgur.com/I3kzY.jpg - Zero's new host, played by Daigo Starbust, who people might know as the vocalist in the J-Rock band Breakerz.

We've got a pretty basic idea of what the plot is right now, basically the earth is already conquered at the start of the movie and Dyna, Zero, and Cosmos are set on their task of freeing it.

Well most of us were on the main/popular Ultraman boards anyway so yeah still not seeing it. Plus people online here probably just don't get it or like it which is there lost.

And why do they have yet another ultraman with a new host? And yeah Breakerz is awesome, thanks for that tidbit.

Because Ultraman Saga is very likely just another final form for Ultraman Zero, or at the least, a fusion of Zero, Dyna and Cosmos.

I'm looking forward to next year. UltraSeven's 45th.

And it seems like Tsuburaya is jumping on the AKB bandwagon and they'll be having various members from the group in the movie as their own special defense force called Team U.

(now watch AKB48 do the theme and it sells like crazy as usual)

Question: I would like to watch a season of Ultraman but I wanted to be sure that I'd be fine just jumping into any season right? I wouldn't need to watch all the previous seasons to understand what's going on?

You can jump into any season and be fine. Some shows are sequels to others and will sometimes reference their prequels, but thoses references don't affect the plot so it's not a problem.

Mebius is a pretty good place to start, it's sort of an introduction to the franchise as a whole for the newer generation, so those references to older stuff are explained fairly well. (and might get you interested in them as well)

Cool, thanks. Mebius was actually the season I want to watch so that works. Would anyone know where I could watch it?

at this point your best bet would be torrent. There's a couple of episodes on youtube, but the quality is crap. This site: http://scarywater.animesuki.com/fushigichan/index.html has all the torrents for Mebius.

God, I wish it was MM than AKB. They are so fucking boring and formulaic to me. EW!

Yes, you can jump into any series and still understand what is going on. I'd go with the original if I were you. As for Mebius, I keep ordering the series but the quality always comes out as crap.

P.S. thanks for the torrent BR.

it's normal,What you have download is a torrent file, you will have to download a torrent client (i suggest uTorrent) to open them. Once you download the client, open the torrent file with the client, and the program will do the rest.Once the ''torrenting'' is finish, you will be able to watch yours videos with any media player. It may be long but it will be worth the time and unless you are lucky, it will probably be your only chance to see them since most direct download links were cut off when megaUpload shut down.
