I know, right? Why, the only way they could be trying to suck money out of us any more is if they decided to have it in 3D and.... oh.

Don't get me wrong, I like the series and I will end up seeing the films. But studio greed irritates me.

Going to see this next weekend. Can't believe it's been 10 years since the first movie...

This put me in more torture then The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. At least they finished in 3 years!

That's because the 3rd movie was awful. Doesn't mean the rest are!

Hmm. I thought the 3rd was okay. It was the 4th that killed me inside. So much loss between book and film...

If you thought 4 was bad, you must've hated HBP (I liked 4 but thought HBP is the worst movie)...that was like watching an entirely different movie...if it didn't have the HP name on it, I would've thought it was something else.

Well I thought the changes to HBP made sense in context for a film. Some stuff that was left out though I didn't like. I liked it when the Weasly's Borrow was burned down. It added a scene for drama however I could live without it if Bill was in the freaking movie and got scarred by Fenrir. I still like HBP its not my favorite but its good enough. I didn't like 4 just way to much of the tourney cut that could of been in there.

I'm honestly kinda stunned by how many people still complain about the movies being different from the books. We all know that adapting directly from the book would leave us with movies that would rival the Godfather trilogy. When trimming is done, changes are also required.

Am I happy that the Ginny/Harry kiss in HBP was so vastly different than in the book? Not really. It was a little disappointing. However, for it to make the most sense in the way the book had it, they would've had to dedicate some extra time to the same build up the book had in terms of Harry's struggle with his feelings for her.

I think we need to judge the movies as their own beasts.

I'll be working the midnight show tonight -- pray I make it out alive since the midnight show for HBP was busy. I'll see the 8:30 p.m. showing tomorrow after I finish my shift.

Yeah, I usually judge the movies as movies, not as book adaptations. IMO, Half-Blood Prince was the best directed and shot film, but the plot wasn't handled well at all. The same can be applied to Prisoner of Azkaban, thought PoA was paced better. GotF was a mess, and OotP was way too rushed. On the other hand, the first two films are faithful adaptations, but I honestly hate them as movies.

Deathly Hallows looks like it'll be faithful to the book and looks like a very well made movie. Looking forward to seeing it tomorrow.

I can't wait to see this movie.

Hard to believe it's been 10 years since the first movie. It seems like only yesterday I took my 5 year old nephew to see the first movie and now he is a couple months shy of being able to get his driver license.

I feel the same way; blows my mind that I was either at the end of elementary/the beginning of middle school when the first movie came out, and now I'm a sophomore in college--and just as excited for this one as I was then.

I remember watching Sorcerer's Stone in a movie theater in Washington DC. It was jammed as hell, and I ended up sitting in the front with my cousins. But it was worth it.

I plan to watch DHI Sunday. I was originally going to watch it yesterday on the 18th, but since 10 years ago I don't do well in jammed theaters anymore, and I got my weekend Masters to worry about right now.
