It's so exciting that you're getting to see it for the first time! Empire does have a lot of the coolest stuff, but Return of the Jedi was always my favorite growing up. There's a lot of great stuff there, finishing out the dramatic arcs (especially Luke's). Totally understand why people say Empire is the best, I just love Jabba and the Emperor, and they make RotJ awesome to me. Trying to avoid "spoilers" because that would suck for GreenBeastFist!

And yeah, I try not to get drawn into trolls' tractor beams, but it happens.

Empire is my personal textbook example of hating something as a kid and fully embracing it as I grew older.

I freaking loved the space battles when I was a kid. I can't even begin to count how many times I would rewind my VHS copies and watch Yavin and Endor. So naturally in Empire we got a battle in the snow, with the heroes losing, and no battles in space except for an asteroid chase with our heroes still losing. I also didn't particularly care about the development of Luke, The Force, the romance of Han and Leia, and all that.

I grow older of course and learn to appreciate all the nuances of Empire and did a complete 180 on the film, and now it's probably my favorite movie of all time. Usually when I give my list of favorite films, Star Wars is at my top with Empire as its representative.

I estimate that we will probably get a new trailer for The Last Jedi, maybe attached to Spider-Man Homecoming or Thor Raganok

The Empire always were one mine favorite things in Star Wars, and enjoyed much the Prequels when we saw the Started of the Empire, and the Birth of Palpatine/Sidious.

The All Jedis Purge and the way of Jedis were lied to since the begins to Palpatine which manipulated the Jedis and the Separatis Leaders

I wonder about the New movie and if they really going to unvein more about Snoke past, because for I heard and read there is some connection between Sidious/Snoke

Empire is still the best one, overall. Regardless of it's status in the Star Wars series, it's considered one of the greatest movies of all time for a reason.
Overall Rogue One is still my favorite, but Empire is a very close second.

TESB, ROTS, and R1 are my three personal favorites. I'm still awaiting impatiently for R1 to be released on DVD.

Philippines. I dunno whether or not my local store is just slow in stocking, or if the rampant movie piracy is hindering it, but for whatever reason I'm not seeing R1 in stocks. In fact, the last most recent movie I've seen in stock was Fantastic Beasts. No Moana, no Doctor Strange, and of course no R1.

I can just imagine what Carrie would have said about having to wear that voluminous cloak.

Here's a very interesting story about the original film on the day of its 40th anniversary.

Is anyone following the Screaming Citadel?

I am not the biggest Aphra fan, but I have enjoyed the series so far

Kathleen Kennedy has said in the interview with Vanity Fair that Leia was going to have a bigger role in Episode IX.

Vanity Fair wrote:
“She was having a blast,” said Kennedy. “The minute she finished, she grabbed me and said, ‘I’d better be at the forefront of IX!’ Because Harrison was front and center on VII, and Mark is front and center on VIII. She thought IX would be her movie. And it would have been.”

Given that Lucasfilm has ruled out CGI and deleted footage of her for a possible appearance in Episode IX, it's either that the role gets recast or written out, though it's more likely the latter.

It would have made a lot of sense to feature Leia more heavily in IX, for the reasons Carrie stated herself. Its going to be interesting to see how they write her out , since they claim no digital work will be done and sounds like Leia won't be in the movie using old footage either. Having Leia get written out off screen sounds like a waste. But the sad circumstances of Carrie Fishers passing makes it hard to give the character the true send off see deserves. Its obviously no one's fault. It bravo of them for trying to be classy by not profiting off of Carrie's likeness..
