Was that ever in doubt? But I bet it'll air on New Year's Day again. January 1st 2020.

They should just remove the rating system off IMDB anyway, it exists to provide facts on the movies, not to give an indicator to what some people on either side feels about any given movie. IMDB stands for Internet Movie Data Base after all.

Its funny, while I got sick of them forcing Christmas into every X-Mas special when they seemed to have exhausted any new X-Masy ideas to use, last year people complaining about no new X-Mas special made me realize it kinda WAS a tradition for over a decade & a 1/2. I imagine if I watched something horror related for that length of time and they stopped doing a yearly Halloween special I'd be pissed.

Although I wouldn't be opposed to using a different holiday every few years, like Hanukkah, or maybe something Yaz's family celebrates, but I'm not holding my breath for that, even in the U.K.

Honestly, I wish they would just air specials at Christmas that had nothing to do with Christmas. The Santas/tree in 'The Christmas Invasion' were just window dressing on a story that had nothing to do with Christmas in any other sense, and it's my favourite Christmas special for that reason. Just air an hour-long Doctor Who action romp, set at Christmas, and don't shove the theme in any more than that. 'Resolution' was better than any of the Moffat Era specials (with the possible exception of 'Tome of the Doctor'), because it didn't have to bend over backwards to fit Christmas in somehow.

Doctor Who series 12 might be way off in 2020, but Jodie Whittaker's Time Lord is set to make an earlier comeback thanks to a new interactive game called The Edge of Time.

The game will be an interactive VR adventure including voice acting from Jodie herself, as players take on puzzles and fight classic villains including Daleks and Weeping Angels.

You'll also pilot the TARDIS in the story, which sees The Doctor chucked to the end of the universe, as she tackles a virus that could destroy reality.

And there was us thinking the universe was an infinite looping doughnut.

Bradley Crooks, who's head of digital entertainment & games for BBC Studios, said: "VR is the perfect home for a truly immersive Doctor Who adventure.

"Fans and newcomers alike will be able to experience the universe of Doctor Who like never before, working with the Doctor and facing enemies new and old.

RTD may have given Steven Moffat a shout-out in last night's episode of his drama Years and Years, where Emma Thompson's character unveils a device that can shut down electronic equipment at a touch...it's called a "Blink"
