So the inners still uses their blackmoon arc powers. Hopefully they got their new attacks and new transformation sequence soon. Can't wait to see mars snake fire fully animated.
They unlock their Crystals an episode at a time. Mercury gets her's in the second episode.

Oh wait, that's next season. I don't think there's a visual change until then.

Btw does this season still follow the previous crystal airing schedule of new episode every 2 weeks?
I imagine not as it's going to be airing on TV now.

HD OP & ED

and a new promo

It shows some of the new attacks.

I assume they're waiting for individual focus episodes, to show off the new attacks, that would make more of an impression than all four in a row duri g tnat animated fight.

Although the fight we saw in the footage happens at the start of act 28 in the manga and the other inners are not there. There's another fight in act 27 where Venus and Jupiter use Venus Wink Chain Sword and Jupiter Coconut Cyclone, so maybe we'll get to some new attacks in the first episode after all.
They previewed two episodes at the event iirc, so this could have been the end of act 28 assuming they split manga act 27 into two episodes, in that case it would make sense to include the fight from the following chapter because it makes for a better ending than Sailor Moon transforming.

Act 27 is two episodes. The people at the unveiling at the beginning of the month said the episode shown only encompassed half of the Act's story.

And there's also going to be three versions of the OP. The one we heard by Etsuko Yakushimaru. The second is by Galaxia herself from the 90s anime, Mitsuko Horie. The third is by Momoiro Clover Z.

If only one episode was shown it can't be half of act 27 because they save Hotaru at the end of the act and the actual fight against the daimon is from act 28 in the manga.
So they either showed two epsiodes or they're still doing one act = one episode (more or less)

This is from a different event with just a hodge podge of clips.

Reportedly they are doing one act for one episode, but there are occassions where the act was longer so they're splitting it into two episodes. Like Act 27.

I see, I thought it was footage from the same event.

Makes sense, not every act should be split, that would just reverse the first seasons problem. I'm glad they're allowing themselves more flexibility.

I just read on ANN that Infinity will be 13 episodes, that means only act 27 will he split into two episodes. I'm a bit disappointed but it makes sense, with it airing on tv it was always going to be a one or two cours show and two would have probably meant too many episodes for one arc, so that meant 13 was the only option.

I still have a little bit of hope because three ending themes seems to be a bit much for 13 episodes. Maybe they'll do two cours after all and are including some of the side stories. The Princess Kaguya one alone could be turned into a three parter.

Some anime have a new ending theme for every episode. This is nothing.

Shida Naotoshi did this part in the new Opening.

The new Ending song is really well performed. It's nice to have vocalists that actually have voices.

Hopefully the timing and character animation improves. From what I've seen of Episode #27 so far it's business as usual with there being no rhythm of energy to the flow.

Really? I had no idea. Do they actually sell all of those as singles or an ending album?

It depends on the show and the production company.

Idol M@ster used a new Ending for every single episode, for example. It helps that it had a really great production schedule over all, though.

Some of them do release as singles, some are albums, and others package the ED themes in with the home video releases.

Don't a lot of shows just choose upcoming singles from bands on the label that they think would fit rather than crafting their own EDs.

Most shows since the 1990s have done that due to declining avenues for making money in the animation industry. Other series, like those crafted in the mold of tradition, will use a single vocalist for their main theme. Toriko used famed anison artist Kushida Akira as the singer for its openings while Naruto would just use 'normal' bands. Although Kitadani Hiroshi is the vocalist of the two main themes of One Piece the series mostly uses groups from the music label avex because avex helps fund the series.

Then you have shows like Idol M@ster, which is all about the singing, so dozens of songs are created for it.

A lot of the shows I watch have songs sung by their voice actors (like Haruka and Michiru's first ED there), so it's a lot more likely those songs are specifically made for their shows. Though that says a lot more about the kinds of shows I watch.

Oh my God. The animation is SO much better. Especially in the transformation scene. As for the opening....well...I loved the visuals. But I feel like the song didn't really.....match. If that makes sense.

I don't know about anyone else, but for me Kaolinite and the Witches 5 were always my least favorite evil generals/henchmen (I only love Dr. Tomoe). R may be one of the weaker arcs of Sailor Moon, but no matter what the incarnation (original anime, Crystal, manga, etc.) that particular group of evil generals/henchmen always somehow manage to be my most favorite ones out of all of Sailor Moon's arcs.
