marvel crapped on the current fantasticfour movie by making johnny as a black
That was literally the least crapped-on thing about the Fantastic Four in that movie.

Come on, Kipp, I trust you to be more open-minded than that.

I am it was just something that bugged me is all, plus I just feel that the movie had no real plot for it!

But its your perfect film. No humor. Things randomly shoved together. Its what you describe everytime you complain about a comic movie.

Kinberg confirms that (in the current state of the script) Professor X will be in New Mutants.

Naturally, nothing on if this will be Stewart or McAvoy, but it seems like people are betting on it being McAvoy.

This is so unbelievably hypocritical coming from you.

Lions, tigers and bears... and Lockheed!

Looks promising, and a little unique certainly for the cinematic X-verse.

Nat Wolff is reportedly being eyed for Sam Guthrie, Cannonball. I thought he was fantastic in The Fault in Our Stars, so I'd be pleased if he was in this film.

Magik and Cannonball, as requested!

And we even got Demon Bear?! Now I demand Marvel Studios give us Ursa Major.

Filming will begin in May 2017 under the title X-Men: The New Mutants.

Warlock without Cypher seems like such a waste, the (very alien) mutant with power but not a lot of focus teamed with their best buddy, a (very human) mutant with not a lot of power, but a LOT of focus... they're the ultimate perfect mutant Odd Couple.

So true. Who's going to be Warlock's "self-friend" now?

In fairness, ALL the team are Warlock's "self-friends", he's a very friendly being... but Doug was the only one to be "self-soul-friend" because once you've Douglock'd there's no going back!

I was kinda hoping we'd get a movie about the characters that were introduced in Apocalypse.

That was the intention at one point (word was 90s and Dark Phoenix), but with this whole "new direction(/reboot)" talk, who knows what'll happen?

But your comment raises a point about the other edge to the double-edged sword of naming this "X-Men: The New Mutants". Sure, it utilises that familiarity with the X-Men brand, and makes it clear that it's part of this universe... but it also makes it look like the latest X-Men film, when assumedly it's not meant to be directly part of it. It would be like calling Rogue One "Episode 3.5" or the Bumblebee film "Transformers: Bumblebee" (though we don't know that they won't do that).

Why wouldn't it be part of the X-Universe? It'd be a different story set in the same Universe. The New Mutants were founded as the junior training team that Xavier assembled, not even X-Men in training (though that was an option for them) but kids needing to learn to control/refine their powers.

Not directly a part of it in as much as it's not part of the First Class/DoFP/Apocalypse/90s Dark Phoenix chain. It's not within that "core" of this universe. Like Deadpool isn't. As you say yourself, they're not even X-Men (and weren't considered it until they reformed in the Utopia era, as I understand it), though they are deeply connected to them. That's what I mean - the title tells the casual audience that it's part of the X-Men universe, but it also suggests it's another X-Men film, like Apocalypse is.

Basically, I agree with you. Guess I didn't express myself clearly enough in my previous post. XD

I think it's all but a certainty that we'll see a continuation of the "primary" X-franchise at some point, but this New Mutants spinoff is the next thing "down the pike".
