Definitely looking forward to this series. Most of my posts about it are on ToughPigs, not here, though.

Dave Goelz (Gonzo, Bunsen, etc.) said that he hasn't had the feeling that everything's right and all the people involved are right since Fraggle Rock, and with this new series he says he's got that feeling again. That's insanely reassuring, since Fraggle Rock was a masterpiece.

Here is an article about a day on the set with Kermit and Miss Piggy.

Miss Piggy says she's been "playing the field" ever since breaking up with Kermit.

I just watched the first episode. I have to say, it was absolutely brilliant. There are so many cool and interesting ways to stage the puppets, and it makes it it's own little Muppety beast of a show instead of a bland Office clone. It's hilarious, it's heartfelt at times, and totally silly.

I won't spoil the episode, but my favourite part involved Scooter. I'm sure you'll all agree with me, once you see it.

THE MUPPETS ARE BACK, BABY.

They've been back for a while now... I loved the Muppet movie with Jason Segal.

Totally looking forward to the show tonight.

Yeah, but with the Segel movie it was more nostalgia-based. "Remember how great we were?". While that was true, and the movie was great, I think their real return came with Muppets Most Wanted, which actually focused more on the Muppets rather than the humans.

But a movie is a very different beast to a TV show. I feel like this show gives them far more freedom to do the silly awesome stuff they want to do without being stuck to a long movie script and a single narrative. The Muppets are REALLY back now, haha.

I had cautious optimism about this show, but at least from the first episode, I feel confident in that everything will work out just fine.

One thing I just realised. I don't think I saw Walter in there anywhere, even though I saw Peter Linz's name in the credits. Maybe I just missed him. There are a LOT of background Muppets in this thing.

One thing I have to give them mad props for, the staging of the shots. It's all too easy to have a puppeteer accidentally visible on screen, or in the reflection of a surface in the background, so the fact that they can skillfully avoid that and still have the Office-style camera work is fantastic. I think Jim Henson would have been especially pleased.

Time for a rewatch I think.

UK fans will be able to watch this on SKY ONE, they've been running trailers for it recently.

I've only seen the commercial, but he's standing next to Sam when Kermit announces their TV show to everyone.

I enjoyed this episode greatly. Too be honest i wasn't expecting much but i laughed a lot. It looks like the recast fozzy's girlfriend and parents from the trailer. I love the Elizabeth banks storyline throughout because hell it's Elizabeth banks it blew away my expectations and can't wait to watch next week. God abc don't pull a fox and screw this over. My one complaint though which i'm sure a lot of people have or will is the mockumentary style it was neat when the office did but now it's kind of blah. Hence why for me i never got into modern family. I know shows in the vein of friends or seinfield or everybody loves raymond are having a hard time succeeding if your not big bang theory. I seem to like that style more

Yeah, but that was just the pitch reel that convinced ABC to make the show. In the show proper, the first episode at least, he's not there.

I loved it. I was laughing through most of the episode, oh man! I didn't mind the mockumentary style but then I never watched The Office. I know of the style, seen it here and there, but not drowned in it so it didn't bother me any because hell, it's the Muppets and they were great! Can't wait for next week.

I think the dad is the same.

I don't know - ABC seems more forgiving with shows than, Fox, or even NBC... unless the show happens to be an inventive genre-bending reality competition show. (I'm still a little bitter they seem to have ignored Whodunnit and The Quest in the hopes they'll just go away as opposed to outright deciding to cancel or renew them.)

I didn't really enjoy it. I laughed maybe twice. The plot was mediocre, IMO. I'm not really sure what I wanted out of the show, but it just didn't really keep my attention very well.

I'll probably watch a few more to see if I'll eventually like it. I'm probably going to watch Grandfathered live next week and watch this later.

I don't know what it was, but Tom Bergeron at the end broke me and I choked laughing.

Glancing over some reviews of this and they haven't been very nice. Not that reviews are going to matter too much, it'll be about the ratings.

I actually really enjoyed it. What had me cracking up the most was the Fozzie story line. Pretty funny stuff. I love all the adult jokes too.

Just got done watching it, really loved it. The scene where Fozzy pays the price for copying Piggy's insult to him at the monster cracked me up as did Scooter getting thrown out the cart twice by Elizabeth Banks. I may be wrong but didn't the girl who plays Fozzy's girlfriend play Sheldon's crazy fangirl in an episode of the Big Bang Theory?

I thought the premiere was solid. I had a couple of laughs throughout the episode. I think once the show finds it feet it can become hilarious. I was pretty "meh" about the first season of Parks and Recreation but I kept giving the show a chance and it became one of my favorite shows of all-time.

Correct.

Bill Prady, executive producer of The Big Bang Theory, is an executive producer of this show.
