Lots of the original Muppet Show was aimed more at adults while still being kid-friendly. I can't imagine they will go full-on adult humor.

Well yeah, considering one of the original pilot episodes was named 'Sex & Violence', Muppets has always generally catered to adults to some degree but they can still easily appeal to kids at the same time which is the fun part.

Here is the 10 minute pitch that convinced ABC to go forward with the series.

This should be good. It's got plenty of hilarious moments.

Also, the Comic-Con panel was great, though there was a good dose of weirdness seeing the Muppets and their performers together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oqZEJ99B3A

Apparently they're working on a redesign for Kermit's new girlfriend because people kept confusing her with the model from "Pigs in Space"

Amusing advertisements, not surprised coming from The Muppets. Poor Fozzie, that'll be a painful, long, and expensive procedure!

Here`s something else Jim Henson gave us prior to hitting it big with the Muppets....

I just went to Comicbook.com and read some unfortunate news.

They say it isn’t over until the fat lady sings. But in this case, we’ll settle for a pig.

The Muppets’ Kermit The Frog and Miss Piggy have officially broken up, as revealed during ABC’s Television Critics Association’s Press Tour. Once the darling duo of Jim Henson’s Muppets world, the power couple will no longer be a unit.

Kermit and Miss Piggy personally informed members of the press at the live event, where Kermit revealed that he's now seeing another pig in ABC's marketing department.

"It’s a day-by-day, moment-by-moment process,” Kermit said. “Piggy and I have gone our separate ways romantically."

Miss Piggy then appeared to give her side of the story, putting all blame (of course) on Kermit's shortcomings. "“Dating moi is like flying close to the sun," she snorted. "It was inevitable that Kermit would drop down to the ground while I stayed in the heavens.”

The duo will still work together, however, in ABC's upcoming The Muppets, which will follow the Muppets in a behind-the-scenes styled documentary series

But with so many questions still up in the air, Kermit then released an official statement on his and Piggy's relationship on his Twitter account.

Hahaha, they really understand how the media game is played now. Brilliant.

Anyone who really believes they're dunzo is crazy, they're just allowing for more storyline opportunities by having them single on this show. I mean, they've always had a rocky relationship, even they were together.

I mean... the trailer for the show makes it a big point that Kermit and Piggy aren't together and it's the central drama of the concept. that and Kermit has a new girlfriend because he's attracted to pigs.

I think the joke is funny and all, but falls flat when the premise is already set up ahead of time.

I think it may have something to do with the fact that, for the most part, the pilot wasn't really intended to be seen by such a large amount of people. For most people it would be breaking news.

Of course, people went nuts for The Muppets again and ended up with the pilot released, so hey, all I can say is at least we got spoilered out of fan love.
