"The Muppets" twitter account posted a short trailer: https://twitter.com/TheMuppetsABC/st...70850139963392

I can see some things that might be problematic: characterization, for one; I hope they don't go "too adult." The Muppets are subversive, but they're still 98% family friendly. And as I said previously, I'm not a huge fan of the Modern Family/The Office documentary style, but I still laughed a lot, so I'm more than willing to tune in.

I really hope they do not make it like 30 Rock. I was a fan of that show until late 2010. Around that time, the show went way overboard and zi could no longer stand most of the main and recurring characters. Still, I do not see how any of the Muppets could become annoying or unlikable.

It looks alright.

If it has flaws, you know Statler & Waldorf will probably the avatars for all the backlash, thus giving even grumpy CRITICS a reason to tune in to the show.

Wow, I was not expecting that.

Then again, the template of the original "Muppet Show" is really a product of it's time: a couple skits, wheeling out the celebrity guest for a song and dance number. With the most popular shows being things like Modern Family and The Office, it's no wonder they went in a new direction.

Also, kids have grown up a lot, they get meta-humour a lot more than the children of the 70s.

Kermit: What can I say Gonzo, I'm attracted to pigs.

Wait... what was the third show? Muppet Show, Muppets Tonight, does Gonzo count Muppet Babies?

Saw the trailer and definitely am looking forward to it. Plus it's something kinda different instead of going back to the old Muppet Show and trying to do the same thing. While I would enjoy that too, I think yeah it's fine doing something more modern. Sure, the way it's filmed isn't anything new but they're already poking fun at it in true Muppet fashion so it's all good. And a modern take will help get in newer audiences who've grown up with shows like The Office and all like others mentioned. So yeah, definitely looking forward to it.

The more I think about this, the more I like the idea.

We haven't had non-human faces in straight sitcom situations since Dinosaurs.

Nice to see Walter's gonna be in this. I was worried he'd be exiled simply because he was in the movie continuity.

Just saw the trailer, and I'm definitely psyched. I've never seen any Muppet show on TV, so this will be a treat, especially in this kind of format.
