damn, would have thought Godzilla would have a bigger fanbase than that
Well I would assume the number is based off pre-sale tickets right? I mean maybe not, not sure how it all works, but that's my assumption. It could easily be that not many people are buying tickets ahead of time. I mean I'm not, but I'm still planning on seeing the movie. I rarely buy tickets ahead of time, only for ones I know will be big or just cause; like getting my ticket for Endgame the week they went on sale, or the PR '17 movie like...a week before I think or something. But in general, I just get my ticket when I go see it cause I'm not worried about it selling out. Though that's cause I tend to go for first showings of the day and almost never go in the afternoon/evening.

They did stop making Godzilla movies for a long time for a reason...

Thank goodness. Sounds like it's going to be more badass than the 2014 film.

To be fair, the 2014 movie was trying to do something similar to the first Godzilla movie.

Godzilla 2014's main issue I feel is its...mixed messaging.

That it's trying to be the thoughtful socio-political horror movie indicative of the 1954 classic and beloved by Japanese audiences...while also trying to deliver the popcorn-chewing slambam action of more modern action movies that Western audiences love and expect.

That it tried to do both, but only did ok at best with tiether of them.

So after watching AVGN's video I started watching some of the movies. Finished the original Godzilla and Mothra vs Godzilla. Really enjoyed them both, anyone have a recommendation what to watch next.?

A lot of that depends on what you want. Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster is a pretty good movie with a fairly simple plot. Destroy All Monsters is fairly iconic for gathering so many creatures. Godzilla vs Destoroyah is really good and even sort of acts as a finale of sorts. Giant Monsters All Out Attack and the Millennium series Mechagodzilla movies are also cool. The Millennium version of MechaGodzilla is so fun to watch. Godzilla VS Megalon is really fun for toku fans, it introduces Jet Jaguar, who is an Ultraman-like hero.

If you ever wanna give one of the more despised entries a shot, All Monsters Attack. It's essentially a dream sequence a bullied kid is having.

Also! It's not Godzilla, but Gamera the Brave is a fantasitc movie, probably one of the best kaiju movies I've ever seen. It's directed by Ryuta Tasaki (head director on Decade, W, Gaim, Faiz) and he gets to be really creative with this one.

Finally got myself Godzilla Vs Mechagodzilla on Ebay for about £26. Most of the time I've seen DVD's for this film go for around £100-150.

The 1974 film or the 1993 film?

That Godzilla vs Mechgodzilla is one of like...two Godzilla films I'm missing. Gotta see if they'll ever release it on DVD again. That and Son of Godzilla.

Got done reading Godzilla Aftershock

reveals that the Muto's from the first film

Is an unevolved form, and that Muto "Prime" is a creature that is called Jinshin-Mushi, the Dragon-Beetle.

It's very orga-like in appearance
