The STAR TREK Thread: Discover the Complaints

last summer, i started what is now a tradition for me: each summer, i watch he entierty of an anthology. that's what got me into PR and i'm hoping it will show me a whole new world of possibilities with other series'. my problem is this: it's been some time now since i discovered that the most exciting series to ever come out of CBS's perverbial bajingo, is, in fact, one of the greatest series of all time!!! i amof course refering to the most well known series to ever grace the face of television. the story of Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Uhara, Sulu, and Yohman on the USS Enterprise. yes, my comrades, i am a trekkie-in-training. now, the original series: that was easy. it's on every site, from youtube to IMDB. my problem is with EVERYTHING ELSE!!!! let's start with TNG, arguablly the greatest thing in prefesser X's long history in front of a camera, and seven seasons (plus 3 movies) of pure orgasmic awsome. where is it? it is nowhere to be found unless i download or pay rediculous amounts for it. i know plenty of torrent trackers but at 13 gigs per season, the chances of me seeing every episode (which i need to see, don't ask why) before i make my carreer as a multi talented musician, are slim to non exitant. i would ask /b/ but they would just call me a trekfag and give me links to rickrolls and lolcats. please RC, don't fail me. may the power protect you, ther force be with you, your spark burn bright and live long and prosper. also, ideas for next summer would be awsome.

Reading over your poorly-written call for help, it looks like you already know what you need to do, in which case, why are you asking us? Find a solution to your problem or find an alternative.

Yeah, you would think the price for TNG would have gone down quite a bit by now. I'd love to have those DVDs.

What's the point of trying to type in long-winded, flowery language if you're going to spell everything wrong and refuse to use the shift key? How hard would it have been to condense that post into, "I like Star Trek. Please help me find it online?"

Also, tell people what you want in the thread title. If it says "Star Trek" in the title then people who are fans of said show are probably more likely to click on the thread and try to help you.

SKIP VOYAGER. There's good episodes, but not enough to justify watching a whole show. DS9 has some shitty parts, but it's worth it overall.

I think his desire to watch the entire anthology demands him to watch through Voyager, regardless of whatever warning signs you cast before him. Hell, I wouldn't have sat through Hibiki were it not for the sake of the quest.

As noted, there ARE good Voyager episodes, "Message in a Bottle" being one of the best IMHO but anything NOT focussing on the Doctor... and occasionally Seven of Nine... just not worth it.

I know you're probably tired of being corrected at this point, but I feel compelled to point out that there's no such character as "Yohman". You're probably thinking of Yeoman Rand. A yeoman is a class of crew -- like ensign or commander. On the Enterprise Yeowman [Janice] Rand was kind of like Kirk's personal secretary or clerical administrator.

So yeah, just wanted to throw out that FYI.

thank you impy. i'm glad to see you no longer hate me. to the others, my spelling can be blamed on my laptop which has taken so many spills, it's a wonder it still works. so many of the keys stick and sometimes it just doesn't type for three or four sentences. also a big thanks to wes who caught my mistake. also to everyone before impy (almost) no this is not RC but that's my bad. it isn't 4chan either so don't be giant douches.

I don't think any of us hate you. We're barely aware of who you are.

Please refrain from threatening people on this board. Even if you're joking, it's in bad taste.
