After replaying Resident Evil Zero, I can see why it's not looked on fondly as the other FC RE games. Who thought it was a good idea to not only get rid of item boxes, but also have the shotgun, grenade launcher and something that wasn't even a weapon take up two spots in your inventory?

I picked up Skyrim for my Switch and I'm absolutely loving it, the game has gotten better with age I'm more into it than I ever was. I'm in the midst of trying to plan a character build. I know what I'm going for but having a hard time figuring out exactly what I should cap the build out at. What's a reasonable level I can expect to reach if I engage in a thorough playthrough?

EDIT: Fuck it, I'm tired of overthinking it. I'm gonna go for a level 81 build. 80 perk points should be more than enough for me to craft a powerful yet still semi-unique character. I won't level up by using skills such as sneak or pickpocket that would break the role I'm trying to play, so I'll use the legendary skills feature to keep leveling up my primary skills over and over until I have all the perk points I need.

Ubisoft got themselves into some hot water over the latest chapter of the new story DLC for AC: Odyssey.

Basically the ending forces your character into having a straight relationship with Darius' offspring (opposite sex of your player gender) into having a child at the end of the DLC chapter. For people that wanted a gay character or didn't want their character to engage in romance options, this acourse really messed with people, and really contradicted the whole theme of the game with choices and playing the way you want.

"Ubisoft has responded to the criticism in a statement to Kotaku, explaining that the events are part of an overarching story, that will be further explained in the DLC's final episode."

After an extended silence on the matter, we've finally gotten word on the Guilty Gear ports on Switch. Aiming for a Spring 2019 window, with individual eShop downloads of the two games (the original GG and XX Accent Core Plus R) and a physical 20th Anniversary bundle of both.

Bit the bullet and upgraded to the PS4 Pro. I ended up taking a bunch of games that I was done with and had no urge to keep them along with my standard fat PS4. Looking forward to firing it up and playing tonight.

Have you guys ever heard of, or played a game called "Die Hard Vendetta"? Was reading on things and read on it being a first person shooter, with some puzzle elements and you can arrest baddies and save hostages and not just shoot everything. Apparently it was released before "Live Free or Die Hard" and thus gave John a happier time than the movies would do with his daughter on the force and Reginald VelJohnson reprising his role of Al Powell. So wondered if anyone here had played it, or at least known of it.

So, I just found out that the legions of "[insert business venture here] Tycoon" games are almost all completely unrelated to one another. There is no huge overarching "Tycoon" metafranchise like I always thought there was. I feel lied to.

...vaguely. It was a game I borrowed from a friend for the weekend, but didn't really get far into it before having to give it back.

I figured that out back when they didn't play like each other.

Saw a bit of a playthrough on youtube, and did get a kick out of hearing Lucy McClane do the "Yippi-Kai-Yay Motherf$#%er!" line.

On another note, anyone here ever play or remember the playstation fighting game "Battle Arena Toshinden"? Was reminded of its existence other day while reading a bit on some of Sage's reviews on the anime and think I still own the first one, but haven't touched it in years. Never played the sequels, but remember seeing them in stores. Never did get around to watching its anime adaption which was only a 2 part ova.

I played the Game Boy version a couple of times way back when.

It was a decent fighting title.

It was the first PlayStation game I ever got, mainly because it was a pack-in with the system

Ellis` theme is easily one of my favorite themes in a fighting game ever

Ahh Toshinden... I remember it fondly! Never owned it myself sadly, although I played my old school mate's copy a couple of times on his Sega Saturn (a version which I think may have had one or two extra playable characters that other versions didn't have.)

I particularly remember the old guy with claws that scurried along the top of a large energy ball like he was some sort of hamster.

So according to people that already have Resident Evil 2 Remake, it actually does feature the A/B scenarios whereas it was previously stated that it wouldn't have them. They've also stated that certain enemies that were in the original aren't in. Such as crows, giant spiders, super lickers and the giant moth.

Surprised no one's posting about this. Metroid Prime 4 development was not going well, so they have restarted it this time with Retro Studios.

Loaded question for everyone here: Is it possible for a video game to be too difficult? As in, does there exist a level of difficulty beyond which it is inherently considered to be poor game design?

Of course. I don't think most games approach that though. Not one that has polished controls and whatnot.

Finally started God of War PS4. I thought I was gonna be a badass and start on "Hard" mode. I got my ass handed even during the first enemy encounter. It wasn't until a few battles in that I decided to go back down to "normal." It was like night and day. I also ended up changing the button config to "classic." I understand why they changed the Light and Heavy to the R's as it frees up your thumbs to throw the axe, but my muscle memory for GoW wanted me to change it to [] /\ for the attacks. So far I'm liking it. It's a good time killing until KH comes out. WOOT WOOT!
