I recommend Smooth-On's Mold Max 30 silicone for your mould. It's a pourable silicone, so also get some thickener so you can brush on some thicker coats.
As for casting, any old fiberglass resin will work. |

First of all welcome to the board.
Some use dance belts, others prefer compression shorts & shirts with or w/o a cup and others go natural(leaving all free) if you know what I mean ![]() It'll all depends on what you prefer. And enjoy you cosplaying ![]() |

I am not going to give specifics, as the different materials and processes can vary, but you will need putty, a molding agent, a casting agent, and skill. if you do not have at least a moderate skill in sculpting you are likely in for a very costly and unproductive time ahead of you. sites that can help with tuturials and materials: http://www.smooth-on.com/ http://www.alumilite.com/ |

I'm still working on my custom helmet. I'll be posting some updates to my tutorial thread in the next few days. This tutorial covers everything for building a helmet from scratch. Be sure to keep an eye out for the update.

Well, this'll be my first time asking about this sort of thing but, here it goes.
I was talking with a friend I met at Morphicon 2012/Who cosplayed as Marah from Ninja Storm and she suggested that next time I go, I should try to go in costume. After thinking about it, I decided to do that and I also decided to cosplay as a character that I don't even see at conventions: The Magna Defender AKA Bull-Black. Now, I'm imagining that this will be a costly venture since the Magna Defender is mostly comprised of armor rather than spandex/Though black spandex is used for the main body suit. I can make my own cape for the costume by getting some fabric from a craft-store in town/Which isn't that much money to be honest, but I would have to ask someone to make me the armor, helmet, and belt-strap for the costume. As for the sword-sheath/gun-barrel, I'm planning on getting the DX Bull-Riot toy and using that since a full-sized version would be quite heavy and droop down A LOT whenever I move. I know that there's a bunch of guys to go to for making helmets/Like Aniki and others like him, so I'll inquire to those guys about the helmet but, I'll need to look for someone who'd be willing to make the armor for me. I hope to have this whole thing finished by next Morphicon to maybe enter it into the costume contest. If anyone can direct me to the right people for this, I'd greatly appreciate it. |

you already answered your question.
Aniki. he is either making, or has made, the full bull black cosplay, armor included. Be ready to drop a good grand or more, but you wont get better quality than there. |

Ah. I didn't realize I answered my own question there. I'll head over to Aniki and see what he's got.

That is a shame but, I'm not in a really huge rush to have the costume made, and plus, Morphicon won't be back until 2014/Which is possible, so I got plenty of time to wait on the stuff.

Ok, so when I received my Aniki made Kiba Ranger suit, everything was great but there is some excess glue all around the shield. Any tips on removing it without any significant damage?
