The Brand New, All Encompassing Bandai Figuarts Toy Thread Pt. IV

Welcome to the all new Bandai 'Arts thread. Feel free to discuss, post photos & reviews of anything that has to do with S.H. Figuarts or Monster Arts.

I will keep this post, as well as the subsequent posts updated with the appropriate information such as new images, reveals from shows, etc.

Links to previous threads:
PLEASE REFERENCE THE FIRST FEW POSTS BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS.

Before Figuarts, there was Souchaku Henshin. Souchaku Henshin was a line of articulated Kamen Rider toys that featured die cast attachable armor. Somewhere along the way, Souchaku Henshin came to the point where it was very articulated and essentially, became the flagship figures of the TV series. The attachable armor pretty much became a bonus, and was simplified greatly as time went on.

So, someone at Bandai headquarters apparently decided they couldn't get enough of this crazy articulation and decided that they had to have more. Screw the attachable armors. And that's how the Figuarts line was born. Top notch styling that remain close to their televised/silver screen counterparts (1:12 scale, these dudes stand at 15 cm tall, roughly) with articulation (35 movable points!) and durability (die cast feet with metal pins!) that never compromises. The line premiered with Masked Rider The NEXT, churning out righteously awesome figures of Rider 1, Rider 2, and V3 all in NEXT-y goodness. While The NEXT created some extremely divided opinions, these figures have received near-universal acclaim from casual and hardcore fans.

At first, S.H. Figuarts mostly concentrated on the Kamen Rider franchise, with the odd anomaly now and then like Domon and Zero. But recently, Bandai seems to be committed to branching out the line into other franchises, such as Dragonball, Pretty Cure, One Piece, and Super Sentai.

If people would like me to have all the links that the other 3 threads have had, then just say so and I will work on updating them, otherwise I will not.

I stopped updating because very few people actually referenced the few posts, most people just looked at the most recent pages for info. So like I said, if you want the posts with links to photos back, just let me know!

Maybe not images of every single figure ever, but perhaps product links to their Tamashii/P-Bandai page listings. Might be a quicker/simplier way of searching "Is there a Figure of THISCHARACTER!?!" and being able to jump to the page. Useful I imagine for looking up figures that aren't officially listed on P-Bandai anymore, but can still be found through extensive Google Searching of the Katakana.

It's not even a question
Figuarts lines make all other versions look like bootlegs.

No question... I still need to get ahold of Luke.

You might want to add Toku Taku... a lot of people forget that one and he's one of the best Middlemen you can get. His prices might be a tad higher, but he's always spot on.

Has anyone here ever purchased from MHToyshop?

http://www.mhtoyshop.com/

I pre-ordered a few figuarts/other figures from here but not sure about their service and reliability.

Top notch!!! Many many purchases with them have all been great and have several figures preordered with them. The best part is they combine the orders and hold the figure until I qualify for free shipping

That is not the figure you're looking for.

Was figuarts Luke supposed to come with a chest with the flap down for swapping?

I think the feet on the Figuart look weirdly long and flat, while the Black Series version's are solid, better proportioned, and boot-like. That's about the only area I see where I think the Black one has the edge. Otherwise, I wish no one had ever shown me a photo of the two of them next to one another, so I could still be happy with the Black Series. I'm not about to start collecting Star Wars Figuarts, but they really do make their domestic cousins look bad.

.... Really?

I'm genuinely curious as to how that's even possible, if that's not a hilarious joke.

You probably should include the obligatory post about how Figuarts quality has gone down/fewer accessories included/milking a specific line while main characters from other lines or season aren't available.

That's the most ludicrous one, considering how bad the early Figuarts look and how few accessories they actually came with. Drive Type Speed is practically flush with goodies in comparison to the original Agito, or the Kabuto figures.
