I had good time watching this show. I found some of the humor to be cringe worthy, but not crude. I could tell that Fox poured a lot of money into this pilot episode.

This show was a fun, lighthearted Star Trek. The ads really misrepresented the show.

And yes, the effects are amazing.

Speaking of which, what channel do you think will air the show in the UK?

I can see either FX or Netflix UK picking it up
FX tends to like comedies on their line ups

How about salads?

The effects were really well done. I was surprised that there was that much in just the first episode.

And am I the only one that was really hoping Isaac was voiced by Brent Spiner? God, Mark sounds just like him in some instances.

FX UK became Fox UK four years ago and ITV2 could be a good option, given that they now air new episodes of Family Guy and American Dad! in addition to repeats of The Cleveland Show.

I actually opened up IMDB to make sure it wasn't Brent Spiner attempting to hide it was him. It sounded like Brent Spiner trying not to sound like Brent Spiner.

I found an Easter Egg.

If you are watching the pilot episode via Hulu pause it at 00:18 and you will spot what seems to be two Firefly-class transport ships crisscrossing each other in the sky.

I thought the Orville was pretty good. I think a lot of critics were disappointed because they were expecting something akin to his usual comedies. Some of the humor is there, but it's a sci fi show first. It was like TNG with more realistic and less perfect people.

Also, this show had some great effects. I could not believe it. They really gave this show a proper effects budget.

Ratings for the pilot were solid.

ScreenRant has a list of every Star Trek reference/Easter egg in the episode.

I won't be surprised lots of Sci-fi actors will start appearing more regularly. Once the show passes the whole waiting for it to be canceled by Fox stage. I'm personally waiting for some Stargate actors.

Oh, there's no doubt they'll have the cameos coming out the wazoo once they get in a groove. It's just too prime of a show NOT to do that.

Can you imagine Shatner or Stewart on there?

I could imagine Stewart being on there since he already did voice work for American Dad.

Yep.

It's a shame Adam West passed... they could have plugged him as a mayor of the planet Quahog or something.

I do see Star Trek cameos in the future but I'm waiting for the Star Wars ones. I know Seth will not pass it up since there are so many references in his other shows.

Get Doc Brown in there too at some point. I mean, he fit him into A Million Ways to Die In the West...

There's just so much good stuff they could do here and there. I don't want it to be a glorified cameo fest... but some subtly here and there isn't bad.

Man, that's good news, given that Family Guy and American Dad air on said channel in addition to ITV2.

Eh. It's Seth MacFarlane. We're guaranteed at least 2-3 seasons with the clout he has. I mean, how long did the Cleveland Show run? That show was an unmitigated disaster.
