^ I can see them not using an elephant or any animals in the "Re-Imagining". The lessons and themes are transferrable to the human experience. It'll be interesting to see which way they go.

The only live-action-remake I would be remotely interested in seeing is Aladdin.

I would LOVE to have Aladdin! The musical at CA Adv. was great!

I'm trying to wrap my head about live action Dumbo...

Not likely. She and Tim broke up a few months back.

I wonder if he'll find a way to include a standoff between two armies towards the climax.

I'm not going to judge until we get more info on this. I like a lot of Burton's work, and I hate some of his work as well. But I'd say I like more than I dislike. I've heard good things about Big Eyes from people who've actually seen it, which wasn't that many. But it had a small budget so it did fairly well.

Let's see, how many generations of children will be traumatized into fearing elephants, mice, circuses, crows, and generally anything in this movie thanks to Burton's "unique" style?
Lots of people already fear all of those things without Tim Burton's help.

I don't get why Hollywood has to take a classic like Dumbo and "goth it up" with Burton or whoever else...
Our generation's seemingly consistent hard-on for making every story we grew up with grow up with us.

Plus, it was one of those movies that had a DTV sequel in the works but was nixed by Lasseter
Actually it was cancelled years before that. The assets from it were used to make the "The Fox and the Hound 2".

Out of all Disney movies they could easily pull of as a live action movie because of their mainly realistic settings or characters... they choose the one with the flying elephant. Good luck with that.

Give me live action Disney's Hercules and I'm sold.

If they had that, they would need to get James Woods to reprise as Hades a la the Aladdin Musical getting the movie's Jafar.

Given we've had two shitty Hercules movies come out last year, one including The Rock, Disney attempting to make a live action Hercules that's successful is suicide. Especially with their attempts to capture the male market flopping spectacularly (Lone Ranger & John Carter).

They'd probably cast Anne Hathaway to be Pocahontas.

Can't they focus on making an original live action movie?

*ahem* He said "original". Buying up popular franchises and carrying them on until the end of time is fine and all, god knows I love The Muppets, but Disney isn't doing so great with it's live action movies under the Disney brand. Last good one was Pirates of the Caribbean, maybe Tomorrowland will break the slump. And even then, they're both based on theme park rides.

Will Smith is up for a role in the film. At first I was thinking either Timothy Mouse or the Ring Master, but then I thought maybe the leader of the crows because he has singing experience.

...uhhhhhhh.....you're aware of the uncomfortable implications if he were to play as that character?

Y'know, the character who in the original movie was called "Jim Crow".

Yeah, I see the crows being replaced entirely because of the current inappropriateness behind their concept.

There's no way in hell we're seeing the crows again, unless things are done extremely differently.

Will Smith as Timothy Mouse is something I really want to happen, though.
