Not to mention it has that one bright instance of Teela actually figuring out Adam and He-Man were one and the same...she seemingly bought Man-At-Arms' excuse for him in the episode, but I always figured from that point forward she knew the truth and was annoyed she wasnt being let in on things.
Which episode was that? The one when she temporarily gained telepathy? There was a buildup of Hordak being freed and becoming the Big Bad of Season 3 and this Hordak don't mess around unlike the General Failure from She-ra.

It was one of the first stories from season one, the one with the dragons I think.

I wouldn't call Hordak a failure; The original She-Ra series ended with him still in control of Etheria. Hell, before She-Ra came along, he had control of the entire planet, minus a small handful of rebels.

Come the series end, there's more resistance to him, but he's still got the majority of the planet under his thumb.

The thing with She-Ra was it was one of the few girls' cartoons back then you could freely admit to watching of your own accord if you were a boy. Also remember coming across this commercial of a book for the toyline which had Catra as the big bad. Looking at it, and others, no wonder they put the Horde in there.

I freely admit to watching She-Ra and Jem, but My Little Pony was like porn. I had to quickly change the channel when my dad would walk into the room.

I had a cassette/book on tape of one of the 'Secret of the Sword' episodes (part 4) I believe. I also had the She-Ra and Grizzlor figures, while I only had Battle Damage Skeletor and Evil-Lyn from the He-Man side of things.

Well its not like it was a girly girly show. And He-Man did show up often in it

Haha, that's one of my foremost memories. My mom found it at a Goodwill and I used to listen to it all the time. I think it was part 4, too.

I knew about She-ra in my youth but I opted not to watch it because back then I thought it was a girl's show and that I could get picked on in school for it. It wasn't until many years later when I realized that the goal of She-ra was to liberate Etheria from the iron fist of Hordak. Sadly the show ended before a proper resolution was ever shown. But in typical 80s cartoon fashion, the show had to be handled with kid gloves same with He-Man and there were times when the kid gloves were loosened and not entirely removed like the Transformers animated movie. When I really got into MOTU in 2006 and picked up a copy of the He-Man and She-ra Christmas Special, that's when I was hooked into the franchise big time.

I grew up on this franchise! He-Man.org was the first message board I ever joined, and while I had few toys (TMNT was the line I had the most figures of) I do have every one of the BCI DVD sets including the Comic-Con exclusive version of the Best of She-Ra. I am looking to get the 30th anniversary set from Mill Creek as well as Classic Media's complete She-Ra set (darn defective BCI disc).

Actually due to seeing it in FYE for only $3.97, I picked up the Classic Media dvd of the Christmas special today.

If anyone's been wanting to join the He-Man.org forums, but couldn't because you only have a fee email account, here's a Christmas present for you. They're now accepting gmail accounts for sign-ups.

I got the complete 2002 He-Man series today, the only present I wasnt expecting. I think my mum got it mixed up with the complete first season of the original MOTU set I had asked for, but since I don't have the 2002 series either it's a nice surprise.

If this was the actual animation, I would watch both shows guilt free, though I'd still wish He-Man would put on pants.

I liked that in the 2002 series He-Man and Adam shared similar physical traits but weren't obviously the same person. Original He-Man's "disguise" is worse than Superman putting on glasses.
