I was watching some YT reviews on the Masters of the Universe Classics toyline (Which look freaking awesome by the way) and I was inspire to make a thread about this classic franchise.

Are you a staff member? I think only staff members can post threads with official in the title.

Taken care of and I added He-Man just so those who search for thread titles may find it easier.

Now is this thread about just the toy line or the franchise as a whole including cartoons, movie, She-Ra, strange crushes on Skelator, the new ongoing comic book series, etc?

I was a big fan of He-Man when I was little. I own the entirety of the original series and the 2002 series, as well as all of Season 1 of She-Ra. I used to have Battle-damageable Skeletor, BattleCat, a He-Man which I don't recall specifics of, the Bashasaurus and the Land Shark. No longer have them, but I still own a storybook from back then:

I think the 2002 reboot was a bit underrated. The plot was kind of stupid and it was also a toy commercial, and I hated Skeletor's voice, but it really wasn't that bad. The animation for it was really good, and there were some genuinely clever quips and one liners. They also had pretty decent continuity from what I can remember.

I never watched the original, but I really liked the 2002 series. A pity it didn't last long.

I've met his voice actor (as well as Teela's, King Randor's and Man-at-Arms') and he was a pretty nice guy. Said he enjoyed playing the part, and was looking forward to the third season that was never to be, as many folks were. For those wondering, the third season would've had Fisto regaining his memory of what happened during the Great Unrest, and Teela learning the truth of her parentage. But the big thing everyone was looking forward to was the Dark Lord Hordak's return.

Also found a vid of Mr. Dobson doing Skeletor.

For whatever reason, I actually knew about She-Ra first, and assumed He-Man was her male spin-off, instead of the other way around.

I also thought '02 > '84. But just like Thundercats, the lack of toy sales killed it.

That and the over-saturation of He-man and Skeletor variants killed the line too.

I've been a fan of the franchise since the beginning. I've got all the episodes on DVD, and I saw both the live action movie and Secret of the Sword in theaters. I had quite a bit from the original toy line. (Never had Snake Mountain or Eternia, sadly.)

If I had the money and the space, I would definitely be collecting the Classics line. Especially this currently available bad boy.

She-Ra is better than He-Man. And if you disagree with this fact, then you're racist.

That is all.

I've been watching the Dolph Lungren MOTU movie a lot lately, really enjoyable, wish it had been a series actually, what with the connection it has to Captain Power (Gary Goddard)

The one character I really dug in that movie is Blade. He-Man was all about magic swords and there should be someone who can match his prowess with a sword. Blade could take it from him with only a duel, instead of by magic. As a kid I was terrified when Julie was crawling under the table and he stabbed his swords right through it.

Also, Frank Langella? Best Skeletor ever. And if you disagree with this fact, then you're racist.

Which makes no sense. They're both the same race. They're twin brother and sister. Saying one is better than the other is not a matter of race.

Especially since Teela is better than both of them.

The 2002 series was pretty decent and it actually showed the stakes being high and Skeletor was a credible villain in that series.

Oh, if we're just going for best character ever, Swift Wind takes the gold.

Not to mention it has that one bright instance of Teela actually figuring out Adam and He-Man were one and the same...she seemingly bought Man-At-Arms' excuse for him in the episode, but I always figured from that point forward she knew the truth and was annoyed she wasnt being let in on things.
