Not really, no. Until he put the cowl on the thing he was didn't have a proper name. Bruce Wayne was already long gone.

Alan Moore wrote a text piece that described it pretty well once. Joe Chill looked at little Bruce Wayne's eyes and saw something shrivel up and die, and was horrified by what took it's place.

Not really. We know for a fact that it was contract issues that prevented Wonder Woman from being in Batman Beyond, thanks to Bruce Timm being open about it when it occurred. It appears that when DC bought the character, they agreed to certain terms and regulations. While some of the Wonder Woman lack of use is due to other projects continually in production which keep her and her supporting cast from being used elsewhere, the "must be a star" bit is also in effect.

As for Batman, there were plans YEARS ago to have Bruce Wayne show up before becoming Batman. Clark would have the wonderful line, "Dude, you need therapy." But the live action Batman films prevent that from happening.

Contract issues, not licensing issues. There's a difference. And even then, they weren't contract issues in the sense you think, so much as "pissing contest" issues, as it was, again, The movie department decision. Not a "license" as they didn't license out either of those films, but did them in house.

And no, the "must be a star" bit is not in effect, and hasn't been since DC/Warner bought the character outright years ago. Who told you that bit?

And Supes is the opposite as Kal-El doesnt even get a chance to live as he's sent to Earth and raised by the Kents, with Krypton destroyed ...though whenever they wheel out The Eradicator, Clark reverts to Kal-El mode and becomes the most boring dick on the planet...

Ahh Eradicator, the character that would inspire half of Braniac's (DCAU version) behavior.

If the Wonder Woman 'must be a star' clause is no longer in effect, then why the hell isn't there a Wonder Girl in this series?

Comparatively unknown character, among other things. And as I said, it's still la bureaucratic mess, just not a licensing one.

Que?

I can't imagine more people are familiar with M'gann M'orzz or Cissie King than they are good ol' Cassie. Not to mention her connection with Conner being extremely easy to expound on.

*sigh* I meant wonder-girl in relation to Wonder Woman was comparatively unknown, and sometimes tested as a "cash in" character with more public audiences. Should've specified.

I definitely see what you're saying about Wonder Girl being... ill-defined? But it still makes me question whether the non-star moritorium is really dead or not. It's probably like you said, just a mess.

Either way, I'd really prefer a Donna Troy to a 'Artemis.' (Who, incidentally, before I'd seen the image, I thought was going to be some re-conceptualized, de-branded Amazon Artemis.)

I remember reading a Nightwing issue where NW is talking to Robin and they mention that. Nightwing that Batman hates being Bruce Wayne and if he could he would be Batman 24/7 or something to that effect.

No, he means the FIRST Superboy. The one who wore blue tights and a red cape. The one who grew up to be known as Superman.

That's the Superboy that's off limits.

Conner Kent also wore a more costume-y costume when he first appeared if I recall correctly. Something like red and blue tights with a jacket over it.

Wonder Girl was a recurring character for a while in the live action Wonder Woman series. She was also a part of the Teen Titans in the 60s animated shorts during the Superman/Aquaman hour.

She's definitely had much more exposure outside of the comics than Miss Martian.

But he was specifically referring to Conner at the time, so I don't see why he'd even mention the young Kal-El Superboy. Not to mention that costume is the exact same costume as Superman's. >_>

Yes, red and blue tights with a black leather jacket over it. But there's no direct clause that says THAT costume can't be used. And the design they're using with Conner is the one that uses the t-shirt and jeans costume.

Ahhh yes, Superboy's 90s costume, or what I like to call his Rogue costume.

I wonder if the t-shirt and jeans costume is going to look *that* dated 15 years from now?

Take a look at this picture:

They look pretty similar to Justice League: Crisis of Two Earth design. That's pretty cool.

Young Justice is gonna be awesome.

Agreed. I grow more and more excited about this show the more I hear of it. Weisman has literally never made a bad show, I loved the original "Young Justice" back in the day, and the animation quality looks to be exceptional. Color me VERY excited.

I'm very excited by this. The design of the Hall of Justice was a nice touch too.

Waitaminute.

Wonder Woman appearing there in what would appear to more or less be a cameo seems to confirm that the Wonder moratorium where she and her family can't appear unless she's a star is officially lifted.

So where the fuck's Wonder Girl?
