Alright, here's the look of the two main characters for the upcoming Heartcatch Precure. DEFINITELY different from what we are used to.

Looking good, though I wish this was made later so that the new two could join in as well.

Ore Cure-Sanjou!
Nice Start! Moonlight VS Dark is aweasome, humor like Den-O (excuse me who doesn’t like the comparison), Marine is very annoying (at this time), I believe in return of Moonlight and Sunlight theory (Dark Cure is Sunlight Cure but possessed by evil or darkness powers) maybe return of Moonlight in the movie (but will need other Precures for this) probably.

Given that W cameod in All Riders, and Goseiger will cameo in Shinkenger VS Goonger, I won't be surprised if the two Heartcatch's will cameo in the upcoming All Stars DX 2.

That's pretty much confirmed at this point. Initial previews edited them out, but the recent one has them included. The new version of the DX theme song also has them accounted for.

for a while I seemed to have a sort of liking for magical girl series (Ironically, I hardly watched Sailor Moon)
Honestly, you didnt miss much. Like DBZ, to many pointless episode fillers. also very repitive.

A good series I liked is magical girl lyrical nanoha. Only saw seasons 1 &2 , but those i liked. Especially S2. Honestly, the only thing I hated about them was Nanoha's ugly as shit magical girl outfit.

I've never seen Pretty Cure. I always wanted to, but honestly, I think I am done with the whole anime thing.

Probably a good thing I never did catch it, given the early dub. But that's neither here or there.

Thing I always liked about Pre Cure was it's music (I like all the OP themes), and how (at least in the original) how it made fun of the Magical girl cliches.

Given how Toei is also behind Precure, I can see how elements from Super Sentai are present as well. In fact, isn't it true that the original Futari Wa duo teamed up with Dekaranger and Magiranger in an audio drama?

Trying to find a way to watch them as well, without resorting to downloads or torrents. Mostly I've been reading web summaries from sites (which I forgot the links to now), and luckily catching them on YT. The All Star DX movie for example? I caught that on YT before it got taken down.

The opening is very cool, and the first part in the beggining was good, but the animation is TERRIBLE. I do hate that drawing style too "cartoonish". It lost the charm, PC's animation has.

By the way, the new heroines have interesting personalities. Let's wait and see how they evolve the story

Really? I never heard about this, but it makes sense, since for what i know, these three series were big sucess in Japan...

So yeah, haven't really paying much attention to this, as Suite Precure, though artistically nice with a good theme motif, didn't really grab my attention. I did see All Stars DX2 and 3 though. The crossover movies have pretty much become their own series.

Actually, yesterday was the premiere of the new series, Smile Precure, with the theme motif this time based off fairy tales.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41pgd1kTKtw

So similar, yet so different, from Precure 5. And yes, there's also gonna be ANOTHER crossover movie with these 5 newcomers. That brings it to about, what, 28 Precures?

At this point, they might as well just make an entire crossover TV series.

I had dropped after some episodes of Suite. Not because I found it bad (It was better than HeartCatch IMHO) but because I was stopping watching japanese series duo a massive loss of interest.

Anyway, watched the opening of the Smile series and.... not impressed. I have seen an image of them and noticed how it seemed a blend between YPC5 and HCPC (which I didn't like) but seeing it in motion and knowing the motif didn't make me feel like watching.

Perhaps that's why I didn't really pay much attention to Suite. Like I said, it has a really nice theme, the design is a throwback to the original, and it has likable characters, but the duo theme has become rather tired.

Personally, if the theme doesn't match the concept of a duo it does fall flat. Plus, having only two characters at the beginning doesn't allow much for character dynamic. Which is perhaps why the two Precure 5 series are my favorite among all of them. To me, Suite didn't really encapsulate the premise of the Precures needing one another to be a truly effective team. Or maybe because we got two additional ones later on, not allowing much room for it.

As for Smile, though it does remind me of Precure 5, there's just something about it that is appealing. I dunno what it is, but watching the OP makes me interested in keeping tabs on this series. Maybe its the characters.

So it seems like Kabuto head writer Shouji Yonemura is going to be the head writer on Smile PreCure...he's the one that gave us such gems as Hibiki hating music because her dad was acting like an ass to her when she was a little girl. I find him writing such a happy series to be amusing.

Seems that through YT comments, blogs and other websites, Smile made a good impression. Also apparently, Smile merchandise has hinted that two more (Purple and Red) will join down the line.

Dammit, now I'm just itching to watch this out of curiosity. No idea where to find episodes though.

Yeah, that Red gem on the toy supposedly claims its for Sunny. Probably just a factory error since she's clearly Orange.

Saw the first episode yesterday. It clearly borrowed a lot from the previous series, but it worked pretty well overall. They kinda forced the exposition out of the way really fast, introducing everyone at once and then fitting a whole fight and the transformation near the end. Still very visually impressive though, especially that ED and its crazy light effects.
