Iím talking about late august/September, not before the movie released.
Yeah I saw morphers and 5" figures clearanced at that time (got an Alpha 5 for $2.50), but aside from that fluke I mentioned earlier and the occasional sale for no more than 20% off, zord prices have been fairly constant.

Yes it doesn't make any sense why that stuff is still hanging around, the movie is long gone and sequel hopes seem to have been dashed, so clearance that stuff out and move on. Maybe it would free up some space for the new legacy stuff.

You don't clearance stuff during the holiday season. Doing so would be stupid.

I work at TRU and they are clearancing a lot of stuff. Stuff that has been sitting around for months and needs to go. And as soon as we put in out in a bin in the main aisle it magically disappears. So yeah anyway.

I like that Bandai keeps shipping out movie figures, I just wish they would complete the line with the putties and whatever other mystery figures were supposed to come out. A green ranger Rita would have been awesome.

Also, having seen the stock photos for the Pink and Yellow spin-morphin' figures, it would be nice to get them and complete the collection. God, why did they have to be in that pose? And in that scale that's just a bit too large to mix with the Legacy figures? I hope and pray every year that we'll get civilian heads like the Mystic Force line, but instead Bandai goes through all this effort to release ugly figures in a nonsense scale. Beggars, amiright?

Bandai isn't shipping movie figures because retailers aren't ordering movie figures because retailers' warehouse are already FULL of movie figures.

So this was interesting... as I was by TRU over the weekend... I looked up at the top shelf, and there are still movie toys... WITH THE RED TAPE OF "DO NOT DISPLAY..."

I couldn't believe it... well... I CAN... but still.

While them still having case upon case upon case of movie stuff doesn't surprise me at all, the fact that they still have those just HAS to be because they don't rotate their stock properly.

Yeah.

This stuff happens all the time right at the end of the year. The stock in the back gets misplaced or the warehouse ships it to them and they've been sitting on it unintentionally. I just took note of these as they still had the tape, meaning, I guess that they're from the initial release and not from subsequent shipments, and they were too lazy to have used other tape.

Meh... it is what it is. Hell, my TRU did a reset just before Christmas and there were things on the shelves that I thought were long sold out. lol!

Agreed.

Clearance time is always fun as they put items out that "couldn't sell" that were never given the chance to sell in the first place (and I'm not talking about movie toys lol).

A lot of the movie merch just got shipped to stores from the DCs since they still had so much of it. They really went all in thinking that movie would be a much bigger hit. And yes the stuff all has the "do not display until 2017" tape on it.

Not that I have seen. One time I saw yellow on Amazon. Bought it. And the light up chest one arrived instead, so I sent it back. All that comes up in the search now for Amazon are the male figures.

How big is that Rita figure? Would it by any chance be in scale with the legacy figures?

That particular Rita figure with the twirling staff pairs really nicely with the legacy figures. The arm that sticks out does not move. I would say its probably a bit shorter than the Legacy figures but not really super noticeable.

Honestly, if it wasn't for that arm being stuck out like that I'd pick her up.

(who am I kidding... now that I've seen that she fits in well enough I'm getting it sooner or later...)

That's really too bad about the auto-morphin Yellow Ranger! I think the light-up chest figures were just about the worst part of the line. An absolute brick of a figure in an odd scale that exists for one reason, to have a light-up feature. Remember the Time Force basic figures? Or the Ninja Storm ones? You know, the ones with basic articulation AND a light-up gimmick?

Might want to check out your local Target stores again, folks. Mine had the Movie merch on clearance again, at least 50% off. The figures they had left - one Yellow and three Alpha-5's - were down to $4.98. Light-up Pink Ranger was down to $5.98. The Pterodactyl Zord was at least half off, too.

Oh, yeah, and - though not for this thread - the fidget spinners were down to $1.48 each.
