Drew Goddard in talks to write for the Daredevil series.

Damn, Cabin in the Woods, Lost, Alias, Buffy, and Alias...quite the resume there.

This is excellent news. Not only has Goddard worked on a lot of great stuff, he also is an avid reader, so he's familiar with both the comic and the needs of a cinematic story.

The article doesn't say if he's acting as the sole writer or is just one of many, but at least it's a great start. I wonder if he'll direct any episodes.

It's official: Drew Goddard is on-board for the Daredevil series.

He'll serve as writer and director for the first episode, and will also serve as Executive Producer and Showrunner for the rest of the show's 13 episode run.

I want Michael C. Hall to get the role of Daredevil/MM. He is perfect for the role.

Showrunning and directing. Nice.

Lots of fans have suggested this, and I have to agree.

I made this playing around one day. I think the only other person who could pull it off would be Jason Statham.

Noooooooooo. Daredevil is not just action bro. You need more than what Statham can bring to the table

Which is why, MCH would be better. Plus Statham is too well known as an action hero and I, generally, prefer lesser known actors for superheros.

So Joe Quesada has talked a little bit about the Marvel Netflix shows, as well as some updates.

One particular comment of interest about how the show is going to be released was this:
While there has been some question as to whether the Marvel Netflix shows would be released in serialized format like traditional network shows or all at once as Netflix has done in the past, Quesada seemed to suggest that it would be the latter. Quesada said, “You’re going to get all these episodes, and you can binge watch them however you want, and then binge watch them again.”
In other words, it seems to suggest that once the shows hit Netflix, all of their episodes will be readily available, unlike the regular MCU films or AoS, where one would usually wait months or weeks for the next iteration.

Other stuff includes stuff that I think has been mentioned before: filming on location in New York, the shows overall having a grimmer and less shiny tone and atmosphere then the regular films or of AoS (but certainly not Nolan-Batman levels of grim), and that yes, they still exist in the same universe as MCU.

Other then that, scripts are still being looked over and casting has yet to formally start.

It would have been very archaic to use Netflix and NOT throw everything out at once.

"Squee" and such.

I don't see it as archaic as much as TV vs Film. I like how Hulu does it. Release an episode a week, keep the anticipation up. If you can just go ahead and watch the next episode what's the sense in any tense moments between episodes

If he means releasing every single freaking thing all at once, that may not be a good thing. There would be way too much saturation.

If this turns out being a hit, I certainly wouldn't mind seeing more Netflixed series. Say, if they make a Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) movie, it would be cool if at the same time they put a Ms Mavel (Kamala Khan) series on Netflix.

Being all there for Binge watching didn't seem to hurt House Of Cards, Hemlock Grove or Orange Is The New Black.

I thought that was pretty obvious. There hasn't even been reason to think otherwise.

I know most shows sitting there just puts me off watching it. I like having an episode scheduled a week and it takes special shows to get me to sit down a binge watch them. Buffy, OauT's first season, SVU, New Who, etc.

I don't think the plan is to release more than one show (13 episodes) at a time. Which I would think is pretty easily digestible for anyone who really wants this stuff. You can watch the whole thing in a weekend, or you can watch it in 13 weekends. Set your own pace and you'll be fine.

Only problem is if you're interested in the online discussion but you're also a slower watcher. In that case, you'll mostly have to just wait to finish the thing before jumping in, unless you don't mind spoilers.

Led by a series focused on "Daredevil," followed by "Jessica Jones," "Iron Fist" and "Luke Cage," the epic will unfold over multiple years of original programming, taking Netflix members deep into the gritty world of heroes and villains of Hell's Kitchen, New York. Netflix has committed to a minimum of four, thirteen episodes series and a culminating Marvel's "The Defenders" mini-series event that reimagines a dream team of self-sacrificing, heroic characters.

With SHIELD gone I can see powered crooks that escaped the Fridge being dealt with by these four powered heroes.

I wonder if Marvel characters introduced in AoS get to be in this. like Blizzard, Graviton or Deathlok.

Let them deal with what they normally deal with. Also introduce other villains to expand the universe and world build rather then relying on world building just from AOS.
