It's true.

James Cameron is taking a break from threatening to make Avatar sequels that nobody wanted, and is now threatening to make a trilogy of Terminator films nobody wanted.

Because it was a reboot.

Say what you will but I liked Genisys, but it was Nancy Kerrigan-ed in the marketing.

That is in fact true.
I would say that's because Judgement Day was the last film James Cameron had involvement in, in other words, a large portion of Terminator fans feel the Terminator films in which James Cameron had involvement are the only ones that should be considered Canon.

Cameron- Hmm. I might even threaten moviegoers with a "Piranha" remake

Eh, he wouldn't do it since he's not very proud of directing Piranha 2.

I guess it wouldn't matter if it a reboot or not since the timeline got altered just for Skynet to control the world in a different way.

I want to be excited, but if they don't write a decent role for Sarah, Linda Hamilton won't save it.

I like that Josh Friedman is involved, I wonder if he can sneak in some TSCC references in there.

To be honest, I've gotten so used to Lena Headey as Sarah its weird to go back to Linda for me.

I'll buy it when I see it. Personally with Josh involved I wish they had given the role to Lena, but I'll accept Linda... That's if it actually happens... Which is probably won't...

I really liked Genysis. I like it more than T2, which I think is really overrated.

Jai Courtney is really the only big black eye the film has.

I'd rank the films T1, Genisys, T2, T3, and I haven't seen Salvation.

Speaking of Terminator, I actually really liked the ending to T3.

I agree and also, having seen Salvation, I would definitely recommend it to you.

The general public didn't care when Arnie himself returned to the franchise. Both times. The last movie had friggin Danaerys from Game of Thrones and Arnie and nobody cared.

The general public does care about Arnold, its a big part of why the tv show wasnt a bigger draw. All I hear from casual fans (even offline) was why bother with a terminator without The Terminator himself?

Personally I don't need him at all, story, casting, and acting to sell it is what matters the most to me. Casuals need these too though, as the box office for Genysis shows.

I don't know. I didn't really care much for Emilia Clarke. She looked like a kid half the time and whenever she tried acting tough it didn't really work. If I had to point out flaws, it would be those two. Courtney would still be highest on the spectrum though.

That in mind, I'm happy to see Linda is back. Id be interested to see if they can Robert Patrick in it. Not as a T-1000, but another character.

It'd be interesting to see how long Arnold will be involved. If they wanna avoid the "70 year old terminator" they could do something like the T2 Sterling novels. Have a young Terminator in the first film (deage his face with CGI), and introduce a human character which is what they based the t-800 model 101 on, that would be Arnold without makeup. The novels pretty much did this to keep "Arnold" with John and Sarah.
