Jim Gordon fights Bane Pre-MOS

*Cue big CGI sequence that levels 4 blocks of Gotham and kills 10,00 people*

Jim Gordon fights Bane Post-MOS

Gordon- All 4 blocks are abandoned. So give it your best shot
Fixed it for ya.

It was so sloppy how BVS had to explain their corrections because of complaints from MOS.

It was too on the nose.

People commented on the death toll of MOS after the movie was released

Then BVS tries to clean up the mess.

-Anderson Cooper says everyone has left work so no one is in the buildings near Doomsday

-Batman has to tell the audience "The port is abandoned"

The studio's "presence" was just too in your face. I don't think they really know what they're doing

As for the picture you do realize he is using a curl bar. He is jacked don't get me wrong but he has a piece of metal behind his arms for support. It is making him look a lot bigger than he actually is. He is still jacked to all hell anyway.

It's kind of like in Power Rangers- "Oh, no! They're attacking the Abandoned Warehouse District!"

With him being imprisoned and bald-ed at the end of DoJ, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw him transition much more into the Lex we're used to.

Ignoring the fact that he was playing Lex Luthor Jnr, as that doesn't really have a major factor, he was still playing a much younger Lex than I ever recall seeing before (though my knowledge of DC isn't huge, so correct me if I'm wrong).
I liked him as Lex, he was very dark. He was like Schizo, stab-you-in-the-face-while-smiling-scary.

Which is good if he was playing Joker, not so much for Lex.

Fair enough, every version of Lex I've seen was more calculated than hostile.

Whereas this version of Lex was bouncing-off-the-walls, drooling-into-the-carpet unhinged, barely capable of functioning on a human level (let alone coming up with a mad scheme to murder Superman for no particular reason).

I don't know what the hell they were thinking. Maybe he just needed to spout off more religious metaphors and iconography?

My impression was that his interactions with Darkseid have driven him insane, a lá Lovecraft.

That's as good a theory as any.

Highfather knows, they never explained anything else to the audience.

The only indication I had for that theory was him screaming like a lunatic in his jail cell about how "He's coming!". That stuff is generally reserved for the end of an HP Lovecraft story, so I connected the dots from there.

But he was acting that way before that encounter. BTW, anyone want a Jolly Rancher?

I figured he'd been in contact with Darkseid for a good long while before the movie started.

Pertaining to a deleted scene...

A being that resembled Steppenwolf showed up in Zod's ship, presumably after meeting with Lex. So the Darkseid connection is definitely being set up.

I'm pretty sure Lex just acts that way because he was beaten and abused as a child.

Given how bleak these movies are, it wouldn't surprise me.

I'm pretty sure Lex outright said such happened to him as a child, at least from what I remember.

Yeesh, I'm still getting over Ben Grimm's "It's clobberin' time!" phrase coming from his abusive childhood.

Can confirm. Lex Luthor Sr. had a tendency to beat on his perfectly-coiffed son.

I'm not even a fan and that made me angry. Sure, take something whimsical and cartoonish and just twist it into something sick, why don't you?
