Don't forget Free Comic Book Day. I know at my comic book shop they encourage people to wear costumes. Had a full Ghostbuster team with a mostly-accurate Ecto-1 show up one year.

Great ideas. I gotta say alot of y'all surprise me with how bold y'all are wearing these costumes in other settings besides conventions. I guess I thought cosplaying was strictly a convention thing.
Depends what type of cosplayer you are... I cosplay for fun and because sometimes you can bring some good out of it.

Serious convention cosplayer is serious... (I so want to put desu at the end of that sentence... you do not know how much xD)

--

Not directed to any member in particular but why are people still relying on bits of elastic; pleather and glue to attach their buckles to their belts?

I did that once... never again; it fell off and smashed... There went my money.

I've mentioned this before, but if your buckle is a good chunk of resin (certain buckles like zeo exempted) why not use screws and a backplate.

a) They will hold the bucle on that belt 9/10 longer than the belt actually lasts.
b) They will not damage your suit if you use the correct size screws (and if you're that worried... spend about 50 cents (30 pence) and get a half dozen screw caps for number/license plates to cover the head.
c) You cannot see them.

This is what I did with mine (ignore its interchangableness... that's another story.)

Front:

Back:

4 screws; a backplate made of a cheap picnic plate (pretty sure it was 10p from Woolworths...) 5 minutes of measuring and marking and 30 seconds with a fine drill on the buckle itself (and belt to punch a hole) and it's static.

It holds on the belt perfectly and wont come off...

Buckle-y goodness xD and Deathnote :-P

Tech_Styles for the spandex.

Sushiya for the boots and belt.

Me for the buckle and Ranger stick.

Buzzs runs for the cuffs/gloves.

This is why I'm using elastic

Because I'm using a BOA morpher and prop holster and since the morpher is really tight in the holster I just have to clip it in and attach the holster with elastic to the belt and I have no problems with it.

You can screw the holster in... it's more secure than elastic strands. 1 each side.

I find it easier this way. Means I can take it off when I want to

Also each to their own, it's up to the user and how it makes them feel what is easier and more comfortable

I've got one word that will solve all of our buckler-related problems: Magnets.

Haha I have just spoken to red-space-ranger (oli) and he says Halu suits can be dry cleaned, so there is no problems.

It'd better be, this suit got hotter in 5 minutes then when I was playing para para in a rider suit for 15 minutes straight.

I need to get some elastic as it broke so I can attach the morpher to it.

@greenrangerdan did they say why they refused it?

They were too afraid that they would damage the suit. I said I'd risk it but their boss refused to have it dry cleaned. So I took it home and washed it on a cold wash and it turned out fine

I have really gotten myself in trouble after joining here because now i know where to get helmets and cosplay stuff...my wallet is screaming. But for now i have 2 communicators (White and Green Rangers) and a set of 6 MMPR The Movie Ranger Chest coins thanks to Starlight Studios...its starting small but can't wait to get my cosplay on. Is anyone going to the Wizard World Austin Texas comic con?

They're under no obligation to accept custom, regadless of whether an item could be cleaned.
