At least we qualified for the Olympics, where we'll compete as Team GB.
Can you explain to me what the difference is between England and Great Britain?

Is there even a difference?

Yes..........

England is................... England, an individual county within Great Britain.

Great Britain is made up England, Scotland and Wales combined. It is the name of the island all 3 countries are on

Team Great Britain also includes Northern Ireland. Which is part of the (UK) United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, but not GB itself.

Those born in Northern Ireland can choose to be British, Irish or duel citizens of the UK & GB (British) and Ireland. (Irish)

At the Olympics the UK competes as one individual nation combined with people from all 4 UK countries rather than as 4 separate countries.

It was extremely hard to figure out. I didn't want to award it at first either, but there seems to be just enough evidence that her back leg got the slightest bit clipped leading to the fall.

She definitely sold it, but I think she indeed felt something.

Yeah. So manager Phil Neville (the other nations agreed to let the English FA be in charge, so it'll be Neville and his coaching team in charge) can pick Welsh, Scottish, and Northern Irish players, not just the English ones, for the Olympics.

That was well explained, you even found an illustration. Nice work!

And so the U.S. has their World Cup final opponent, The Netherlands, beating Sweden with the only goal of the game scored in Extra Time. This is their first ever time advancing to the championship game, good for them.

I was assuming we'd see Sweden again after our first meeting in the third round of group play, but taking on the orange crush should be fun too.

The USA also advance to final of the Gold Cup to face rival Mexico, after defeating Jamaica last night. So many finals will be played this Sunday, definitely should be entertaining.

Big news but expected news, Frank Lampard has officially been announced as the Chelsea Manager. Glad to see Frankie back, this time as a coach. Very proud of him to say the least. The Premier League season can’t get here any quicker.

With the way England and Sweden were going at it, you'd swear that match was for the gold medal. Sweden seemed to have control throughout the first half and the score reflected it, but England had greater possession in the second half and just couldn't get their shots to fall. That defensive header by Fischer late is going to be remembered in Sweden for some time, especially if she retires as planned.

Too bad for England. You just know all the newspapers had their "Bronze for Lucy Bronze" headlines ready.

Mission accomplished, the U.S. Women's National Team defeated The Netherlands for back-to-back World Cup victories! Megan Rapinoe with the Golden Boot and Golden Ball awards, Alex Morgan with the Silver Boot award, Rose Lavelle with the Bronze Boot award, and Jill Ellis the first manager to win consecutive titles in a World Cup, only the second manager ever to do so in either the Men's or Women's World Cup AND a manager hasn't done it in over 80 years.

So glad Rose Lavelle's goal is getting the publicity it deserves. That point was earned.

Jill Ellis is stepping down as US Head Coach after the 5 game victory tour, it was something that was known privately since last year around Christmas time. Hence maybe the wait in hiring a USWNT GM (There's a lot of positions open right now, Including the overall CEO)

Regarding the equal pay disparity lawsuit. Hope Solo, who has a separate lawsuit vs the fed, has been trying to combine her lawsuit with the USWNT's lawsuit because she thinks she can get a better outcome for the ladies than the active players themselves.
Both USSF and USWNT don't want her to, so her attorney filed a Rule 11 against USWNT's attorney saying they're violating proper procedure over the whole thing.

In lament's terms, Solo was kicked off the team for being a distraction and she's unhappy she was despite being right about equal pay

I expected as much. I think today was the last day of her contract, and no one waits that long for a job they still want.

Manchester United have finally agreed a deal for Harry Maguire from Leciester City for a defender world record fee of £80m

Utd are also working on a swap deal. Lukaku will go to Juventus and Paulo Dybala going to Utd. There is talk Utd could also take Mario Mandžukić, either as part of the Lukaku deal or as an independant £15m buy.

I would like to know what the bleep is going through USSF executives minds right the hell now,

the DA system has just been split up into two tiers, no promotion or relegation and the top level seems to include all the MLS Academies, Premiere Crossfire, which typically does only youth training and has been known in the past to be better than Sounders and Timbers academies in the past is really not happy about this as they're in the lower tier.

There's already an antitrust lawsuit already against USSF and the MLS by the Kingston Stockade and Miami FC, do they want to keep shooting themselves in the foot by just giving them more evidence?

The new EFL season starts today, but Bury's first two matches have been postponed because the league aren't happy they have the finances to complete the season, and Bolton are also struggling to field a team, relying on youth because their senior players have all become free agents having not been paid for five months. Both teams are starting the League One season on -12 points.

What's wrong with it? The League aren't happy with the club's funding, so two games were postponed.
