Working on an ancient Shinken Red figure. It's 80 percent done just doing the final touches.

First time using Gundam Markers. Not on an actual Gundam kit (coming soon!), but on a Ryusolger Candy Toy. Normally, these guys don't come with any paint at all, but a sticker sheet instead. Decided to try and paint one of them and not use the stickers and I'm pretty happy with the result. Might do the same for the other four.

It's high time I posted what I've been doing all summer! Though I can't compare with some of this 3D printed work that's been on here! Great work, guys!

#1 thing I've been doing is finishing up on the Legacy weapons! Here are Adam's hatchets. Made from the ends of chopsticks, Monopoly houses and tubing

With that, I now have all homemade Zeo weapons!

Ashley was next with a Star Slinger made from a spare Astro Blaster, a Monopoly house, earbud plugs and a bendy straw.

Likewise, all of Space has weapons now!

Now I know I posted Silver, but here he is again along with custom Psychos pink and yellow!

Lastly, here's lord Litter!

He was made from bristol paper, DT Red legs, MMPR 8" Pink hips, a Gold Ranger body, and Auto-morphin' Green Ranger's hand! On his back he has a quiver that if I wanted to could make arrows to put inside!

Curent works in progress: Artistmole and Termitis!

You can't 3D print that kind of show accuracy! I love your dedication to monsters.

Keeping with the spirit of kitbashing, I'm spending my evening working on some helmets. Who could it be? Zero points to whoever guesses right.

I like my putty's a little darker

Finally getting around to fixing my Shadow Ranger. It had some pretty bad paint apps on the arms and helmet. Applied some clear blue to make it all more uniform.

Have you been experimenting with making your prints smoother? I fear i'm just not getting the best results purely from cutting corners and being kinda lazy ...

Made some progress~ a few days ago I began sculpting a helmet for Kat Ranger using Shadow as a base. Good idea but, too much plastic. The helmet was too bulbous compared to Shadow (and Omega).

Attempt 2, I carved out both feathers so I have more room for medium. I also shaped the base helmet, making a nice dip for the visor. This way I can sculpt the helmet in four sections - the feathers (x2), the visor, and then the shell.

Back to the grind!

I have a few of DI's prints, and I share your concern. I have a few cleaners and polishes here to test, once I get that project done I'll share my results. I'm reticent to suggest anything until I try it myself, I'd hate to be responsible for your weapons melting.

I'm also interested in any suggestions!

What’s the story on those Rangers with the MMPR-looking helmets on the right? To the left of Time Force Silver/Gray.

Sorry, the ones on the right, the ones where the Pink Ranger is standing in front (not the Ninja Steel ones).

Has anyone sculpted a Ranger visor before? Any tricks to get that perfect smooth finish?

I'll be casting at some point, maybe I should focus on polishing the cast rather than the sculpt...

Still more shaping to do. The visor has this distinct wing shape, and I've got that figured out, but it needs to frill out at the top.

Really like how that helmet is coming so far. As far as getting the visor down it seems like your best bet is to just keep sanding and cutting with an x-acto knife till you get it where it needs to be.

Thanks! I've tried my hand at customizing before but I always quit when projects reached the dreaded "ugly stage". Takes a bit of confidence, and a whole lot of patience to push past that.

I think I nailed the shape last night. It's like Momoranger's heart visor, but more streamlined.

The hardest part is getting a good look at the visor. I have the Katastrophe fight saved as individual frames to my iPad, so I can quickly skim and see how it catches light. Thankfully, this fight shows every possible angle.

My most frequently used tool is actually an electric nail file. $15 on amazon and I use it way more than my big-boy dremel.

Yeah I'm working on his shield and helmet(there was a lack of silver on one side).
That's about it. Nothing else to report.

On a similar note I got to work on my own Green Ranger using parts from a legacy Green that's been collecting dust in my fodder bin.
