Quick thoughts on the new Figuarts I got.

Drive Type Speed: Freaking gorgeous figure. The detail, paint work, articulation is all amazing. He's spot on to the show suit. Very lite on the accessories (still wish he came with the gun and sword) but the Max Flare bonus tire kinda makes up for it. Not a complete package but still quite nice.

Mashin Chaser: Great detail and paint like Drive, though I find him to look a bit segemented and his abdomen to be a bit narrower than in the show. Still looks great. Articulation slightly limited by the design, but still quite good. Has more accessories than Drive though not by a lot. Bonus Midnight Shadow tire is kind of an odd inclusion for Chaser. Also not having any effect parts makes it kind of boring. Still a good figure overall.

Agito Renewal: Amazing figure, just all around perfect. Seriously no complaints. Has all the accessories he needs. Easily recommend it.

Will post pics of them when I get some time.

The reason why Drive is light on accessories is because Bandai wants you to buy their other figures. Hence, why Type Technic comes with the door gun and Type Wild comes with the handle sword, Tridoron comes with extra faces for the belt, and also why the other figures come with first released bonuses such as effects and tires, for Drive. It's all marketing.

FYI, Mashin Chaser came with the Midnight Shadow tire because his Ride Chaser came with the effects. Same for Mach, he came with the Funky tire set while Ride Macher came with the Funky tire effects.

Great pics Activator!!

How do you like Tridoron? I kinda regret not getting it, but it looks fantastic!!
Thanks!

I love it!

I've been semi-regretting it because of the price as the months went by, but having it in hand changes my mind completely. One improvement would just be for it to say 'go Tridoron' or 'start your engine'...maybe have lights in the wheels for the Tire attachments, but other than that.. so good! So heavy too!

NYCC never had any exclusives for figuarts. most of the time its just an early release of a figure.
Ah. Well now that I know what those figures are, it's good to know it's an easy pass pockets saved!

Aw man. I hate you so much.

Having that car would be like Ralph the mouse and his ambulance. It would be awesome.

Agreed. It still stings that the Sentai & PR figuarts are practically DEAD.

As a lifelong Turtles fanatic, I can say this is one of my least-favorite iterations. I loved that show as a kid, but tried watching it as an adult and it does not hold up.

Visually, they're also incredibly simple and bland. Almost every other version is more visually appealing. Mirage, 2003 cartoon, Movies (live action and CG), Nicktoon, even the Archie comics were all nicer looking.

Good to see there is someone out there that shares my thoughts on the 80s turtles. That said, these still do look pretty good and accurate as figures, but I ended up selling my Classics turtles (which I would assume have more articulation, even if these are just prototypes), so...I don't think I can justify a smaller figure for double the price.

I wish Revoltech would move their asses and do some more with the 2012 line.

Fingers crossed we see more amazing stuff though. Those turtles came out of nowhere.

I saw a post on instagram saying Beerus will be released in March and Vegeta in April. Not sure if that is legit but the guy who posted it seems pretty excited and confident with the news.

I'm sure this will excite DBZ fans:

Russ over at Gundam Planet just got to interview Bluefin and GODDAMN:

-Turtles will be web exclusives in Japan as they are aimed at the american market. The 80's cartoon is THE most popular version of the character in either market though so it's beneficial to both parties. Plan is to construct them with diecast parts. They're currently exploring what other characters from that series to make in this line, taking suggestions.

- Advanced Color reissues of SS3 Goku & Perfect Cell ARE happening! Sometime next year. Both will web exclusives in Japan. On the topic of the recolors though they mentioned that while yes Vegeta &Trunks are getting those newly colored reissues, they are also getting BRAND NEW SCULPTS! As is entirely new figures of each of them will be produced later next year in addition to the recolors. These new sculpt figures will be retail releases in Japan!

- DBZ sales in the US are double the Japanese sales which is what keeps compelling these releases and recolors.

Great news all around!
I have both SSJ Vegeta and Trunks, but if they (especially Trunks) look better, I'll gladly buy them again. SS3 Goku advance color reissue? Count me in.... as long as he doesn't have anything close to that horribly orange color on the original (never bought it due to that). I've got the original release of Cell, so no real incentive to buy him again, new paint or not.
