I did forget to mention this, but this actually makes it worse, because having new skins and not new characters still means that they're way too over-priced for a season pass. That's almost essentially the same thing Mega Battle did, adding in Rocky, Adam, Aisha, Kat, and White Ranger Tommy, as DLC, but that was only an extra $5. This time it's an extra $20, for less character skins.

So with this in mind, you're basically paying $10 for one character skin with an arcade mode attached. That is really high. Compare that to, say, Street Fighter. They add a new character (character not skin), that has their own arcade mode, and it's usually $5 a piece, at least. Season Passes for Street Fighter games are usually around $30, but they have more than just two or three characters that they add, with their own move sets. This one doesn't even sound like it'll have their own move sets (most skins are just that, skins).
I don't think it necessarily means that he season pass would ONLY contain Pink Ranger and Drakkon V2 skins. I think there should be a chance to see what it offers before it's judged whether or not it's worth the extra $20.

It's Saban's Power Rangers powered by Hasbro... So Saban aren't out of the picture completely...

The season pass isn't for those three skins. It's three "new" (and unspecified) characters, a warrior skin (whatever and whoever that's for), and the Drakkon V2 and MMPR Pink skins. Green V2 skin isn't part of the season pass, it's for pre-ordering.

Additionally, I hope the game is more of a standard, button mashing fighting game. I'd be disappointed if the Rock-Paper-Scissors aspect carried over heavily.
Agreed, I want an actual fighter that I put inputs in on the D Pad, not just the rock, paper, scissors gameplay of the mobile game.

The odd one out of those characters is MMPR Pink. If she's the skin, who could even possibly be the base character? Ranger Slayer?
I'm gonna go ahead and assume the MMPR Pink skin is Ranger Slayer. Unless it's Armoured Pink from the Ivan Ooze movie, but then why pair that with a Drakkon skin?

I never said Green Ranger V2 was part of the Season Pass. I was talking about Drakkon and MMPR Pink. Either way, they have not specified anything other than the skins, and so far, the pass is over-priced, since skins don't have their own move sets. They usually use the move sets of another character. Hell, they made Green Ranger V2 into a skin, when he was an actual character in the mobile game.

Could be the pink ranger from the MMPR Pink comic.

It may still not be worth the price, but you're complaining about only getting skins with the season pass when that's not the case. Again, it also includes three characters who aren't skins.

Three characters who may or may not actually be new, and just characters that have already been released on the mobile game.

If it's just Legacy Wars...which it looks like it is, I hope they do it with proper controls and battle mechanics. I mean, make it a fighting game proper, not a direct port of the mobile game. Also, I hope it's just a full release - with everything being in the game, not some free-to-play thing where everthing's behind a pay wall.

Now can we get Mega Battle on Switch too?

It's buy to play, as it's already said. It's going to cost $20, but they're having a $20 season pass, so technically the game is $40. So far, they haven't revealed how the gameplay is going to play like, so all we can do is speculate at this point. Same thing for how they're doing the roster, and if we have to pay extra to unlock characters outside of the base price and season pass, since they haven't said anything.

Press release:

For over 25 years Power Rangers has been one of the most popular franchises in the world. As a perennial Top 10 NPD Action Brand, the globally renowned brand has spawned hit TV shows, movies, toys, comics, live entertainment and games. Today, nWay, the developer and publisher behind Power Rangers: Legacy Wars, the hit multiplayer mobile game with over 45 million downloads, is partnering with Hasbro and global content leader Lionsgate to announce Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid. The new cross-platform fighting game will be available as a digital download for $19.99 first on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in April 2019, and then as a PC release later in the year.

The game is now available for pre-order at www.battleforthegrid.com. PlayStation 4 pre-orders will start shortly. Those ordering prior to launch will receive an exclusive bonus of the Green Ranger V2 character skin and a digital art book. In addition, a special Digital Collector’s Edition will be available to pre-order for $39.99, which contains the full game download, Season One Pass (which will include three new characters, their Arcade story, and a new warrior skin), and exclusive Lord Drakkon Evo II and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Pink Ranger character skins.

“Power Rangers fans have been asking for a high fidelity fighting game on console and PC that match up iconic Rangers and villains across the expansive Power Rangers multiverse for quite some time now,” said Taehoon Kim, co-founder and CEO of nWay. “We wanted to deliver this to the fans and make sure it has cross-play and cross-progression capabilities as we believe playing with friends across multiple platforms at the same time is where the future of gaming is headed.”

Power Ranger: Battle for the Grid is an easy to learn but hard to master fighting game that delivers a modern take on the Power Rangers franchise. The game features stunning graphics with vivid details and pits new and classic Rangers and villains against each other in team battles. Featuring a streamlined combat system, the game welcomes newcomers to the genre with simplified controls, while maintaining depth and detail for more intense and experienced competitors. Players will be challenged to test their skills online against friends and other players around the world, providing endless replayability. With new content and game modes releasing throughout the year, the game will continuously offer the community new ways to play and compete.

With cross-play across multiple platforms, all players whether on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch or PC, will be in the same player pool and will have the ability to compete against each other in real-time. Even when players change their platform, their mission progress they have worked to achieve will still be available to them, allowing for cross-progression and true seamless gameplay no matter where they play.

“Since the acquisition of the Power Rangers IP, we’ve been looking forward to bringing Power Rangers fans memorable experiences. With Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid, we’re expanding the portfolio of great Power Rangers games to more platforms,” said Mark Blecher, Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Business Affairs at Hasbro.

“The Power Rangers have proven to be an enduring global phenomenon among audiences of all ages,” said Daniel Engelhardt, Senior Vice President of Interactive Ventures & Games at Lionsgate. “We are excited to build upon our successful mobile game, Power Rangers: Legacy Wars, to offer a unique opportunity for fans to enjoy a new cross-platform fighting game experience on console and PC.”

More details on Power Ranger: Battle for the Grid will be released in the coming weeks.

Considering the game is a port of a game that's basically made to celebrate 25 years, do you really think they care about that little detail?

Oh that is NOT a good sign. And here I was expecting this to be a traditional fighting game.

Looks like the roster is 15 characters.
As soon as I saw this, I just knew they did this to purposely try to milk it for as much as they could, like I was saying before. That's not even half of the characters in the mobile game.
