The General Movie Thread discussion: for movies that don't do franchise

Well I was searching for a global thread about movies and It seems I didn't see one or I perhaps missed it ? If it's the case just redirect my following question in the right thread. If not well then this thread will be use for movies who doesn't have a franchise on their own such as Ransom or Titanic and help people to get or understand something on the movie they missed or help people to answer question they have/had for a long time.

Also we can talk about old movies on their productions and others stuff like trivia and such. I'd love to hear some fun trivia about True Lies for exemple.

As for the question part well let's make this a good exemple with one that I am asking for you all.to answer me.

Here is my question !

Why in the movie Ransom Det. James "Jimmy" Shaker (played by Gary Sinise) kidnap Tom Mullen son Sean ? In the movie they implied that Shaker motive is only for money because Mullen is a rich guy a multimillionaire. But when they are together at the end of the movie it seems that Shaker have a personnal grudge against Mullen ? And not just because Tom Mullen (played by Mel Gibson) foiled his plan but because before the kidnapping Shaker already has a grudge against the Mullen. In my opinion in this movie we have a missing scene that explained why Shaker and his gang kidnapped Muller's Son specifically.

And I don't think money was just the sole reason.

Maybe Mullen, being a big businessman, was either directly or indirectly responsible for Shaker's lack of money? Like maybe Shaker lost his money in a bad investment through one of Mullen's business ventures or something when Mullen was just getting his business off the ground.

Possible I mostly thought that Mullen big compagny was perhaps responsible of Shaker loss of something, like maybe one of Mullen aircraft killed one of Shaker familly member like a brother or one of his parents.

Another question who saw Kin or Alpha does those Movie are good ?

Speaking of trivia, don't know if anyone else noticed this, but I think "The Lion King" was the only time I know of Whoopi Goldberg being a villain.

I've heard reports where she wants to play a horror movie villain.

Since A Star is Born is coming out soon, what is your favourite film starring a musician? Mine is Men in Black starring Will Smith.

It's an oldie (and they do count as musicians technically) but Back to the Beach with Frankie & Annette is one of my favorite overall movies.

The Last Dragon. Vanity.

That's my favorite movie period.

Cannonball Run. Mel Tillis, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. And then Cannonball Run 2 adds one more singer to that list. Old Blue Eyes, The Chairman of the Board.

She also voiced Stretch the Octopus in Toy Story 3, who started off as a villain.

She played a comedic antagonist in "Monkeybone", if that counts.

Nothing about that movie counts toward anything ever for any reason, unless you're talking about movies that go on the 'worst films of all time list'.

I could see him doing well in this role, given he's grumpy and old in real life...

The teaser trailer for the 2019 Elton John biopic has been released. Taron Egerton really is the perfect choice for the part since he nailed "I'm Still Standing" in Universal and Illumination's Sing.

I'm disappointed we've never gotten a sequel to Coneheads or Mars Attacks .

A Coneheads sequel I'd love to see, maybe recast with Bill Hader as Beldar since he looks like a younger Dan Ackroyd. That recent Pringles commercial with Hader making those faces convinced me he can pull off something like that.

Some of the cast members of Mrs. Doubtfire reunited in celebration of the film's 25th anniversary. The reunion included Pierce Brosnan, Mara Wilson, Matthew Lawrence and Lisa Jakub. Time really has flown by. This was the first PG-13 movie I ever saw as a kid.
