And if that first movie hadn't been a massive pile of shit.
Well, that's what you can expect to happen when you take a completed script that wasn't intended to reflect any existing property and slap a random brand name on it. >_<

Except they did that for Saw II and got the best movie in the series. Damning with faint praise, perhaps, but as torture porn goes it was top class.

Wait, they fixed a lot of their mistakes with Retaliation, and they're just going to flush it down the toilet and start over?

I will tell you from my heart of hearts, Battleship was a great story
Aaaaand all credibility lost. C'mon, man, people love Armageddon, and even we'd admit it was a crappy story.

The way this whole article reads is kind of like an unaware joke. They claim Transformers was "dusted off", when I'm pretty sure they were always on store shelves, and have had a near-constant presence on TV since Beast Wars (though, I suppose that's the exact same level of media negligence Power Rangers has received). There are no plans for a Nerf movie, do they want a pat on the back for that? "Toy companies probably have no more likelihood of succeeding at making a profitable movie than anyone else", they actually have less because toys don't all come with plots attached to them.

The way I'm reading it, the first two movies failed to appeal to the younger crowd who doesn't know much about G.I. Joe.

The best way to do it is just let it be itself. Have a crazy ass special ops team of bad add soldiers with crazy specialties and codenames, don't try to hide from it and don't just generalize it into a generic action movie/Die Hard.

Millennial tone is just some empty buzzwords at this point.

They fixed a lot of mistakes, but also ruined a lot more in doing so. Retaliation being better isn't enough of a reason to stick to that craptastic version.

Hey now, as a story, it's pretty decent. How it was delivered is the problem.

There are no plans for a Nerf movie, do they want a pat on the back for that?
Boo on that I say. Imagine a Nerf War movie in the vein of the Paintball or Pillowfort episodes of Community. I'd watch the shit out of that.

"Toy companies probably have no more likelihood of succeeding at making a profitable movie than anyone else", they actually have less because toys don't all come with plots attached to them.
They may have more since a lot of toylines come with stories built in. When you pick generic toys though, of course story would come easy. There are so many properties to pick from that have a story or make sense to adapt, why do they keep picking ones without a backstory or logic to them? Is it like someone double dared them and they took the challenge to heart?

They must fix the damage caused by Rise of Cobra and Retaliation.

Up to and including:

- Not killing most of the Joes off in the second movie, especially one of your most popular characters.
- Actually utilize more Joes in a major motion picture. As limited as their screen time was, as least the animated G.I. Joe movie managed to squeeze in pretty much EVERY Joe.
- Give us Cobra freakin' Commander in the first film. Yeah, I know he was there throughout RoC, but he wasn't the CC that we all know and love.
- No sci-fi gimmicks like those suits. I know the cartoons got a little... bizarre at times, but still...
- If you're going to give Duke, give us the America loving, ass kicking, will never stop fighting even when he's captured Duke. Hell, I'll bet he was still trying fight in the animated movie when he was *comatose*.

Ninja Turtles would probably have a shared universe with Wild West C.O.W.boys of Moo Mesa.
A live action Moo Mesa movie would be awesome. Stupid, but awesome.

Well, it isn't like they are owned by the same people. It's more like Usagi Yojimbo. Where creators have crossovers.

Honest in Retalion they fix some problems, and later kill one the important characters was a big mistake for the plot, the Cobra Commander should had been more present, because the all Mask Thing all over during the movie I liked but well I prefer him during the First Movie.

WOW, they are going to reboot GI Joe !!!

Remember A.T.O.M? Basically Action Man with the M.A.S.K premise.

Having read the solicits for the new Jem mini-series coming in June, it kind of sounds like Jem & The Holograms are getting ready to merge into the Transformers/Joe/M.A.S.K., etc. Revolution universe, although the plot description was just vague enough to where they could go in a completely different direction.

Kenner owned M.A.S.K., and Hasbro bought Kenner way way way back.

EDIT: Wow I'm like a year late on this. Sorry sorry sorry.

As long as this Jem has nothing at all to do with the film we already got and follows the original premise, I'm fine with this. Otherwise, they can go to hell.
