I wonder if they moved it Netflix because it was going to be way darker than Riverdale and Supernatural. If they're being faithful to Chilling Adventures then we're going to be dealing with
ALL OUT devil worship, Harvey getting brutally killed off, an insanely dark backstory for Salem and hints of possible forthcoming incest from Sabrina's father.

With this move to Netflix, I hope that doesn't mean we won't be seeing Riverdale characters in some capacity (even if it's just cameos). Also, does this mean we won't be seeing a mention of Sabrina in Riverdale? I mean, the show is supposedly still being promoted to be in the same universe as Riverdale, but since it's technically not airing on the network channel with Riverdale, I worry that there won't be much of a connection, despite what they're saying.

Well, we still saw Buffy and Angel cross over when both of those shows were on different networks, so anything's possible.

Yes, but those different networks are mostly available for everyone to watch, more or less. I think it would be different for a television network show and a Netflix show to have any connections, since it would be harder to get people to follow what's happening.

Like Agents of SHIELD, which mentions the MCU movies, when the movies never mention it.

Luckily CW has an exclusive deal with Netflix so there's a definite relationship between the 2 networks. It's still possible but a lot less likely

That'll be a long wait, then. Netflix rarely releases its shows to DVD. I've only ever seen Fuller House, Orange is the New Black and Daredevil get any type of release.

Jessica Jones, Stranger Things S1(Target exclusive), and Trollhunters. Trollhunters had more or less the best deal; had some behind the scenes stuff with Del Torro, full first series(so 26 episodes), and only $15-17. Though it's only on DVD, they didn't do a blu ray release which is weird but I'm still tempted to pick it up.

But yeah, they rarely do releases and they're more often than not over priced for just the bare bones episodes. I bought Stranger Things only cause it was on sale during Black Friday for $10 as opposed to the $30 it was normally.

I still think it's a bit of a bummer having Sabrina now on Netflix as opposed to sharing the CW with Riverdale but whatever I guess. I'll watch it sometime in the future when I sub for Netflix again.

Hmm, I just saw a comment on Instagram that said that Dove Cameron (Descendants, Liv & Maddie) should be Sabrina, and now I can't not picture her as Sabrina. What do you guys think?

Dove Cameron could fine as Sabrina...if this was going to be in the same vein as all the other Sabrina stuff that came before it. Chilling Adventures is gonna be a different beast.

?

Grace and Frankie, Masters of None, Kimmy Schmidt, House of Cards, Narcos, Hemlock Grove, Marco Polo, among many others.

No, not all of their shows get DVD/Bluray release, but it's far from something rare and incredibly common with their really popular stuff.

Home media releases vary pretty much entirely based on the whoever's co-producing a show with Netflix. With Sabrina, it's WB TV and their Netflix shows (Fuller House, Longmire) are released on disc following a very obvious and exact contractually agreed upon year after their streaming debut.

I kinda hope it moved to Netflix because they gave up on Chilling Adventures and just straight up rebooting Sabrina.

Chilling Adventures #9 is (currently) scheduled for release early next year, although that could change again. It was supposed to be out this month but got delayed.

I meant I hope they gave up adapting Chilling Adventures, and rather just reboot the TV series.

Chilling would be more fun. Also Chilling is a reboot.

I honestly doubt they will give it up because this is meant to be a more darker and serious take on the character than being like the Nineties TV series.

Can't help thinking though, with CW toss Sabrina to Netflix it leaves them open to pursuing a magical DC hero show to round out the ones they have and tap into DC's magic stuff. Wishful thinking, but heh.

Also yeah, the 90's series was fun mostly but we don't just need a copycat reboot. Nothing wrong with trying the darker angle of Chilling, it could work. Plus people are on game for it with the success of It, Stranger Things, stuff like that. So probably will work out well if they have good writing.
