Yet, it's not a DC show.
So what you're saying is DC doesn't own it right? Wrong DC owns Vertigo meaning everything that Vertigo does in legal terms is a DC property. That brings it back to the original thing CW already has 3 DC properties on their network.

I honestly think CW should have ordered the pilot. I personally would rather have Supergirl over iZombie as a show. It could also be the bridge us fans kinda want split about it but it can be the bridge between the new DC Movie Universe and DC Tv Universe the Arrowverse. I'm hoping the connect Constantine to this universe it will be nice. Hell throw a mustache on the guy playing Gordon and make Gotham in the Arrowverse its past.

Where in my previous posts did I say "DC doesn't own it"? You must be hallucinating. iZombie is an independent graphic novel that is published by a DC imprint, but it's not connected to the rest of DC. Therefore, I don't consider it a DC show.

The fact that iZombie wasn't paraded out with the rest of the DC TV properties at SDCC should be a big clue.

I'm not sure I buy the whole CW passing just yet. That came from EOnline who had several mistakes in their article. Also if there trying to sell it like Gotham, it doesn't make much since for it to be on the CW since Warner Bros. owns half of that network.

according to his credentials he was only a producer for the first season or two, writing a handful of episodes during that time. nothing during season 7 most definitely.
Michael Green has nothing to do with this show. It's from Greg Berlanti.

Agreed. It kinda concerns me that they passed on it. That's already a bad sign. And honestly, who cares about iZombie?

Methinks that was the whole point. Take a property that's not extremely recognizable you already have the license to and make it your own.

It's a police procedural with super powers. Those are easy to write.

With the success of the walking dead a Zombie series would be an easy sell to the CW. They've already capitalized on Vampires, it seems a logical step for them. Now a series about Supergirl could be harder, especially with The Flash and Arrow already on the network.

It occured to me they could try Peter David's weird but wonderful Earth Angel route if they don't want to tie too much to MOS, but I think that would'nt sit well with casuals

I would love for them to go with The Linda Danvers/Matrix story. A real shame that character has been forgotten.

Berlanti has started the development process on Supergirl. It hasn't been pitched to any networks yet, so there's still a chance of it landing on CW.

"We're just starting to work on it," Berlanti told CBR News. "We haven't gone to the networks yet, so. I'll be happy, very excited to talk about it once we know where its home will be and that kind of stuff, but not at this moment. "

I still wish for a continuation of the Supergirl or Kara from the Smallville TV series. She got a good send-off and would be cool to see her get her own show. Laura Vandervoort is hot too. What the hell is a new TV show going to have? Is it going to be another origin story we've seen or know already? This is frustrating!

Get over it Smallville is dead people bitched about Arrow and that is leaps and bounds better then Smallville ever could wish to be. Faith is all you need in the show I have faith in the producers to give me a show that is good and faithful to the character.

Yeah true that Arrow became badass and I'm not complaining about that. Just wonder what kind of storytelling will this show have and if they will explain her origin again for however many times it is already.

And...it's already been picked up at CBS.

It's not just a pilot order either. It's a series commitment.

A couple of years ago, Beverly Hills Cop got the same deal. It doesn't mean it'll still air. I do think it stands a better chance because of the landscape on television right now with every broadcast network at least doing a superhero show (with notable mentions of the same thing happening on cable) and how Warner Bros. has to figure out what to do with the property.

I read about that. It was based off a treatment for the fourth movie...I'd always assumed they werre waiting for that movie to come out of development hell before commiting to a series.

Supergirl has landed on CBS with a series commitment. That means it's happening for sure.

Supergirl, Greg Berlanti and Ali Adlerís drama based on the DC female superhero, has landed at CBS with a series commitment. The deal closed last night, a day after the project was taken out to the broadcast networks on Wednesday. I hear the size of commitment eclipses the series commitment DC Batman drama Gotham got at Fox last fall. Warner Bros. TV is producing with studio-based Berlanti Prods.

I don't know about that, but it did get a pilot production commitment. So, my mistake for saying what I said earlier.

I remember that Tina Fey got the same thing last year from Fox and it didn't go to series. So, we'll see if it works out, but I'm thinking that it will because of the reasons I gave before.
