No, all the dates announced are for DC films. Harry Potter is not from DC, therefore, these events films have nothing to do with Harry Potter.
Nowhere does it say that.

The DC films are labeled as such, clearly creating a distinction between them and the two 'event' films (which are labeled WB Event Films). It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out/realize that if said event films were supposed to be DCU-related, they would be labeled as such.

They're not listed as DC films though.
Anymore, because the original story I read seems to have edited since I last looked. Carry on, forget I said anything, as I am clearly working of incorrect information.

Has anyone just taken a step back and looked at BVS?

They're introducing all these heroes in ONE film. Sure, I'LL know who that woman in golden armor is but alot of people won't. There's a right way and a wrong way to build up a universe and DC is doing it wrong. Just the fact they're trying to cram as many heroes as they can into this film just sets off red flags for me. Cause at the time of this post they've only done Superman and even then he wasn't done particularly WELL, just trying to emulate The Dark Knight in it's tone but put that aside.
While I'll agree that things may not look great for BvS, introducing three or four new heroes in a movie can be done. Hell, I think they should have gone straight-up Justice League movies with no solo movies before it.

In just a few days, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy hit $100 million to critical acclaim. This is a movie that introduces 5 heroes and make them more likeable than DC spent with a 2 and a half our movie about Superman. A movie about a space Indiana Jones, a walking tree, a talking raccoon and two other non-humans is a ridiculously hard sell to the non-fanboy, yet they did it. If Marvel can make a talking raccoon into an audience favourite, I see no reason why DC can't make a decent movie about 5 heroes that audiences will have actually heard of. Warner Brothers have some of the biggest names in their stable, yet they're too scared to actually try anything with them, that's why so many are getting released under a movie that has "Batman" in the title.

They need the right writers and directors to work on the film. This is key to why Guardians was so good. Faithful to the characters while changing origins and some character traits to make a believable story. They just have to focus on exposition 5 characters is a lot but right writer it works. bad writer its horrid.

Well, they did say that we'd probably get specifications for the full DCCU lineup before the end of the month. I guess this is the first one out of the gate.

They haven't confirmed which slot yet but I'm guessing it's the August 2016 one.

I don't think Aquaman is going to be the August 2016 movie, unless the scripts come together quickly enough to WB's satisfaction. I think the other 2016 title will be Dwayne Johnson's Shazam.

I'm bummed the priority after Justice League is Aquaman, rather than, say, Wonder Woman.

Is that actually a thing?

I really think Aquaman is a great place to start.

That would be nice,. Kylye's kinda scewed over as far as adaptations go. In DTVs, it's ALWAYS Hal. John starred in JL/U and Guy in Brave and the Bold. Kyle got one episode of Superman TAS and brief speaking cameos in Justice League.
Kyle got a whole episode in the final season of Brave and the Bold, and speaking cameos in one or two earlier episodes.

An Aquaman movie should be like Conan under water.

Using Aquaman as a team up movie with WOnder Woman would actually be a decent idea.

The two have always worked well together in the comics with just a little tension from the split.

Aquamans "My way or else, I am the king." attitude has so far, been the only sticking point in the teams royalty.

Completely agree. It pissed me off to no end that they made the DTV version of Tower of Babel "Hal".

It really sucks that DC animated features have ignore Kyle so much.

Aquaman has a penis. Clearly he'll sell more tickets.

And we all saw how well Conan worked for Jason Momoa...

So I'm curious, what would the chances be of the characters from Flash and Arrow to be involved in the DCCU? It would be a good idea to include these already established, developed characters in the Justice League movie without having to worry about adding even more backstory to a film already packed with characters who didn't get their own solo movies.
DC's said that Arrow and Flash will be in their own universe. Constantine? No one knows.

The only thing we know about Constantine is it will not tie in to Del Toro ' s Justice League Dark project if it ever gets off the ground.

i think they would make a big win with the Aquaman-Movie if they would use the Throne of Atlantis Storyline. i still can't believe that they are on the Aquaman FOR REAL.. im not upset about wonder woman because she already got an 3 season long television series and got an animated movie few years back and.. yeah finally AQUAMAN!

(Loved the Aquaman animated shows and the 2006/07 pilot.. still cant believe that didnt picked it up but good for smallville and justin hartley to reprise the role of oliver queen)

and since the new52 Aquaman became more Serious and more well recieved by critics and fans..so yeah.. aquaman is a great hero to get an stand alone movie instead of some others
