Holey Moley seemed to get the message and added more of my Jeannie Mai to the mix.

And I called it from the start that Family Food Fight would kick off the Asians tonight, they already have one Asian family cooking Asian cuisine so two would have been repetitive. And you could tell because the southern family cooked terribly and got to stay in the competition.

Holy crap, in addition to Card Sharks, Joel McHale was on Match Game Wednesday and both Pyramid and To Tell the Truth tonight.

What kind of contract did he sign?

Were all three shows repeats last night? My DVR didn't record them, and ABC's schedule says they were on. (Unless it was wrong.)

I don't know about the other two shows, but Press Your Luck was a repeat

Press Your Luck was the preview episode that aired after The Bachelorette on June 12th. Card Sharks was the first episode. Match Game was last season's finale.

Well, at least they were slightly older than the repeat ABC is airing tonight. They're showing last week';s episode of Holey Moley.

They didn't actually have a choice. They've only aired two so far, and they already encored the first episode after that live tightrope walking special.

So, if my Spectrum On Demand "episode numbers" are of any consequence, they haven't been showing PYL in production order. Episode 4 isn't available on their servers, but episode 2 is coded as #104, and episode 3 is coded as #107. The very first episode - that preview one, I'm guessing - is definitely #101, because a lot of things were fine-tuned between that and the second aired episode. The ABC app has all four episodes up, and I think last week's was one of the earlier ones, because that third episode has more of the classic Whammy animations redone in the new style, which is such a fantastic throwback.

This incarnation of PYL seems to take something from all three variations: The bonus round is loosely based on that first round of Whammy!, in which you keep going until you want to stop, only it has prizes based on the winner's interests/desires and does the spins in segmented rounds, rather than just letting you go until you Whammy out and get booted. The question rounds are straight out of the original version, but I can't help but wonder if the answer options are supposed to be displayed on-screen when Elizabeth reads them, but someone never got around to putting them up. The dollar amounts (up to $5000 in round 1, $10000 in round 2) is out of the Gameshow Marathon special from the early 2000s that CBS ran.

One quirk I've been noticing: Some of the board stops seem to be edited or delayed from when the contestant presses the stopper, so it looks like Whammies get missed or prizes get shifted for dramatic effect.

Wow, it is so easy to guess who leaves Family Food Fight each week.

But I didn't see the White family being one who were gonna have to cook to stay in the competition.

Hiring Rob Gronkowski to a game where quick thinking is required is the epitome of unfair.

Wed's set of episodes should be new again after being off for two weeks.

I didn't get why it was off last week but oh well. Does anyone else notice that the PYL ad during Pyramid spoils who makes it to the bonus round?

The Espy awards.

ABC runs that on Wednesday every year.

Haha, Pam won the competition round of Press Your Luck with just $2,000.

At one point, the guys playing against racked up three Whammys in a row.
