One last thing (hopefully..) to fix the gap on my morpher, all I need to do is make the pegs on the XY axis thicker? I don't quite understand how that would help, but hey if it works it, works!
They aren't close enough together to fully close the plates. Thickening them is easier than modding the catches, and forces them into a tighter fit.

Would anyone know where or who can I get the plastic MMPR morpher plates from? I'm in dire need of them since my morpher plates are cracked -_-

Today I decided to fix some of my power morphers, they wouldn't open completely no matter how loose I made the screws so i decided to cut the spring in half.

The left is the spring in it's original form (my mastodon morpher) and the right one is after cutting (ticera morpher). Now after i cut the spring i can tighten the screws as much as i want and it will open completely.

Things you need to cut the spring:
Wire cutter
Needle nose pliers (scissors work as well)

When cutting the spring find the center and use the needle nose pliers and the grip part of the wire cutter to stretch the center out till you have a big enough area to cut and cut so you have two almost even halves. Next use the pliers to shape a loop from the ends. Once formed apply to the morpher very gently if not you will lose the spring.

edit: neilyboy if your plates cracked you could fiberglass them or super glue them. Then sand if needed and paint them.

Updated on the spring mod. The spring mod will give you issues with the metal xy axis but to fix that stretch the spring that is used to hold the red "button" that holds the axis to stop the plates from moving on there own. Sorry if anyone did it and had this issue.

I bought that 50 pack a while ago and gave a bunch of them away for free on here, lol. It's a real bargain.

Damn guys those were good finds. My buddy and I are currently working on back stickers and the red clip for the morphers. I have a lot of rejects i need to move though. None for the clip yet though we start that tonight. When finished they won't be painted red but black instead. I have a lot of black PWC in my hazmat lockers at work lol.

Wow! This thread is already providing a ton of good, useful info. I just ordered my first morpher off ebay. It needs a little TLC, but i think with these fine guides, I'll get it looking clean.

Thanks Mike. I appreciate the welcome. I do have one other question. Do you know if anyone on this site has tried to do a ranger prop out of wood?

My bad. I should have made it a bit more clear. I'm actually working on a morpher made from wood.
