Yeah on the one hand I want to go because it's fun, but when I think about how much it costs I have second thoughts especially if there won't really be anything that different this year besides a new venue. The merch is always pretty much the same, the guests are pretty much the same, and Bandai never really has any to die for exclusives. I don't know I'm on the fence this year.

to add to what I said earlier, I'm going to compare a trip to PMC for me (all the costs listed, excluding what can be spent once in the convention) to my honeymoon. We had a beachfront room in Jamaica for 7 days/6 nights that included round trip airfare, transportation between the airport and resort, fully stocked bar and mini bar in our room, all the drinks (alocholic and not) we'd want, and 16 restaurants across the resort we could visit for food, with their hours of operation such that there was only about a 2 hour window right before dawn that was the only time you couldn't get food, not to mention all various land and water sports across the resort at no additional charge....all for about 500 more than what we are spending to go to PMC...

The convention is fun, but every time we go, it does get that much harder to justify going.

So it seems like they got Bandai of America to produce a figure that only PMC can purchase who is then in turn selling only to con attendees. So Bandai will then also create their own exclusives that they will sell to attendees directly. Crazy.

Yeah. I think PMC probably had the choice of either exclusive and Bandai is asking them to sit on whatever the other one they are holding for their stand may be. Although on twitter there is massive uncertainty as to whether more exclusives exist.

Well I mean this Drakkon figure is being sold by PMC directly, through a deal they made with BOA. It's a PMC exclusive like the legacy stuff that have been TRU exclusives.

I still think Bandai will have their own exclusive to sell to convention goers as always. IMO this is like if NYCC sold a Bandai exclusive through their own channel - Bandai would still most likely have one at their booth. I find that more likely than them selling Drakkon at a booth in the convention centre. Of course - supply dependent. $50 is quite steep so I'm personally hoping for, weapons, good detailing and perhaps another accessory (maybe a throne). Can't be long till we get pictures surely

$50 is probably the price point just due to the quantity ordered. The more they produce the cheaper they can sell them for, and they are making considerably less than a regular retail release figure.

well I remember I made a post here lately, saying how since i'm a fan, I don't understand or don't know how the business works when it comes to getting guests to attend conventions, but it's now it's starting to hit me hard now that even though in California, it's the state where the largest portion of celebrities or people in the entertainment industry live, California is one of the hardest to get celebs to attend conventions for. I got it from 2 people who are used to running conventions, and talent manager.

"California is poor for guests as they are so common on the east coast it's more of a thing because it's rare

So big shows pay them more to go out

After getting that bigger money they won't do smaller ca shows because they won't get paid what the big shows will pay them"

"They arenít willing to pay money to the actors to be guests at events. Because we see stars all the time here in LA" "All I know is that LA is full of celebrities. So to the events/shows, why pay them when we see them everyday"

I guess that's probably a big reason why Amy Jo Johnson, Frank Welker, still haven't done a single show, convention in California yet, even though Amy seems to be more involved in the Convention circuit now, there are plenty of shows, cons she can attend in California besides Morphicon, because it seems a Power Rangers exclusive Convention is still out of the question for her.

I'm guessing it's that way for most of all of the Western Region of the U.S. as well, including Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, etc.

Well, keep in mind, the cast being there is less of a from Morphicon thing and more of a from Saban thing. Kelson was a ranger for 1 episode, and while that was amazing, we don't know if he's ever going to suit up again. Added to that, they've only ever had the core cast of rangers (plus the 6th) represent the season at Morphicon so far. Dino Charge did not have the rest of the crew past Ivan, and etc.

However, that doesn't mean Kelson can't appear under his own power via the people at Morphicon. He just wouldn't be included in the Ninja Steel signing session/panel, unless Saban decided to have him join those.

It's expensive to fly people in from New Zealand. Find Maureen and ask her how that went. Unless Saban's willing to pitch in (like flying in James Davies), you can forget it.

I know Becca Barnes was lurking at PMC in 2016, I just don't know who got her there.

That it is. If they want Kelson to come, they can make it happen though. It's just something that is going to be arranged outside of Saban.

Didn't know Becca Barnes was there last time.

Dino Charge had 7 rangers last time at Morphicon, I figured they might do the same for Ninja Steel.

Believe it or not they just announced all the cast members of Ninja Steel, and check the Morphiconís Facebook if you donít believe me.

That's definitely true. Though to be fair, we knew she was going to be semi-regular, hence promotion worthy. I'm not sure how much more rangering Kelson will do.

He means that since they had 7 cast members last time, they in theory have the budget for Kelson, but it doesn't always work out that way.
