Digimon, Digivices, and all that go with!

http://herotaku.com/blog/1/entry-129.../#.U6twNZRdWSo

I'm not 100% sure this is the right place to post this, but I figured the board would be interested in knowing that there's talk of Bandai reproducing the original digivices from Digimon 01. I know i'm incredibly excited about it, and am happy that I don't have to scour eBay for nicely priced digivices.

Not gonna lie, I've wanted a "season 1" Digivice for a long while.

Not sure if I can justify $99+ for it though.

Still... cheaper than getting a Japanese one off of eBay.

Pretty awesome, but I think I'd be more interested in a tag and crest set. They never made them as far as I'm aware, but if they're producing stuff for season 1...

Also, that special event is the day before my birthday. Will have to keep an eye on information for that!

Tag and crest sets were made, though I don't know if they were made by Bandai and definitely weren't available outside of Asia.

^ Tags and Crests were made in Japan and are very, very rare to find. They were made by Yutaka a division of Bandai that made cheaper, more cost effective toys.

The $99 may be a deal with the 1) Being Bandai Premium and 2) that there's going to be more features. I'm actually hoping that they aren't going to be translucent... but it's not an issue. Tai's just looks odd with being orange and you can seem the green circuit board... makes the color see off.

I'd really prefer a show accurate version, with no translucent plastic, but it's still cool to see Digimon having some anniversary love.

If you're looking for tags, etsy has some amazingly handmade ones. The tags and crests aren't seperate, but they're still really nice.

I always found the original toy digivices to be too bulky. I bought these a few years ago to display with my digivolving Agumon/Gabumon figures and these seem, to me, to be a better representation of the show design. It would be nice if the new versions have a similar appearance.

Outatime used to make tags. I bought the Crest of Courage tag some time ago and it looks awesome. I believe he use the crest/tag set I posted a photo of earlier for his mold. He used to make digivices too, using the original toy for his V1 and the ones in my picture for the V2.

To all those discussing the tags/crests - first of all, that set seems pretty awesome (though Reliability in blue and Sincerity looking quite blue is a downer). Would be cool to get a Premium Bandai reproduction of those. As for fan-made, I think I'd prefer a single tag with interchangeable crests, but if anyone can provide links to anything like that set, such as the Outatime one, that'd be appreciated. Not like I don't have enough to spend money on...

And I agree with cyberv, a show-accurate one would be neater. I was always a bit more fond of the season 2 and 3 ones, too (I guess because they were individually-coloured), and have one of the original D-3 ones, but I know they're unlikely to produce those. Maybe if/when I rewatch the early seasons, I'll find myself wanting some Digivices... shame these would cost even more than $99 (or the £ equivalent) by then, haha.

Agree'd with the stated above about the price, Phantom6.

I'm hoping $99 isn't the final price for such a small toy, at least by itself.

Oooh, those are neat, though I'm a little confused about the auction - if that's just for the crests, and it's $8 for one, do you have to request which one you want if you only want one? Anyway, I'll look into it once my birthday comes, assuming they're still there - I'll have more money then, and they really are awesome, but I'm not going to commit to them even though the exchange rate is in my favour.

As for the high price of the Digivices... the promo picture shows silhouettes for two against the Courage and Friendship crests. Could the set maybe be two Digivices, in orange and blue? Perhaps further bolstered by some interactivity feature?

Unless they're going to be releasing all eight of them in the future, I'll have to pass.
