So here's kind of an odd question:
What do you guys do to make sure you don't have underwear lines showing through your spandex? I normally wear trunk briefs and I just know it'd have a thick ring around my thighs showing through the spandex.

No problem, working on a degree in costume design and construction. Gotta do some good here and there.

I used compression shorts and it does the job. Also a cup can help too.

I've never really cosplayed before -- I was civillian Akashi/BoukenRed back at the NYCC last year -- but lately I've been seriously considering getting myself an MMPR Red Ranger costume.

There's good cosplay and bad cosplay, and I'd like to avoid bad cosplay by any means. So I gotta ask an odd question for all PR cosplayers: What is the ideal body type for cosplaying as a Power Ranger?

I have a pretty average frame, not a whole lot of muscle but I'm not fat by any means either. I kind of slouch (which I've been working on to improve) but I stand at 5'10"-5'11".

I'm not trying to sound vain, but I just don't want to be laughed at when I cosplay. I'm already wearing red spandex, I'd like to at least look impressive when I have it on.

EDIT: I've been Google searching for pictures and I came across this, taken from SDCC 2010. To me, this is one of the best-looking cosplays I've seen and this is what I'm aiming for. Anyone got tips?

The ideal body size, is whatever you are.

Body size shouldn't keep you from cosplaying. EVER.

This. Cosplay because it's fun. If you're really worried about it, just start working out, but people aren't as judgmental as you think at cons. Everyone's there to have fun

I cosplay as Luigi cosplaying as Princess Peach, and I'm a bigger guy. But it's fun! Cosplaying is just one of those things that has everyone there is going to be in costume, or expecting to see people in costume. The worst that can happen is someone asks you for a hug, or they ask you where your costume is from.

I promise. No worries.

PS. I look good!
