I LOVE that they went with the chromed silver plates like the Movie Morpher.

To me, this is perfect. Though I wonder if the Medallion Set has the Zyuranger
logo and such on the backs of all the Medallions? That is the only thing I don't
care for on the Buckler.

What "design flaw" are you referring to? The only thing I can think
of is the red button on the side, so I guess that is the only OTHER thing
I don't care for with this release, lol.

The promo pictures for the medal set showed the backs as having the logo.

Wish it played the Zyuranger theme. Other than that, glad to be getting one!

Which would be?

That box is beautiful, interesting choice to go with the full chrome instead of the brushed metal.
A shame that the crystal is tiny, half scale at best.

Having not watched Zyuranger the sounds leave a lot to be desired, though I like the full light up.

It is weird that they wouldn't fix that, seems like an easy fix.

Well, I am glad they went the chrome look… since I am not bothering
with the Movie Edition Morphers, this sets the Zyu Version apart
from my original 5 Legacy Morphers.

The Crystal is fine for what it is, would have rather they done it 1:1 scale,
but for the price I can understand it.

In regards to the sounds, I think it is a simple choice with doing
what they did with it. It makes it more prop-like and the buckler never
played their theme on the show, so no reason this one should.

As we all know at this point, Bandai America is using the MMPR theme
as a "gimmick" sound on every electronic Legacy item. Not a fan, personally…
so this is much more true to the actual prop.

Also, after seeing the promo pic of the Medallion back, I wonder
if that will hinder the ability to snap them into the Buckler?

Agreed.

I don't mind the MMPR theme, but I'm one that if it makes a certain sound... make the item have that sound and nothing more. I HATE that there's morphers from PR that do NOT make the same sounds as the show, or are fill with tons of sounds that are completely useless.

My Abaranger Changers... I mean, they're simple, effective, make the sounds they should, just like in Abaranger.

So this having nothing more than what it does, I'm perfectly fine with. The only, ONLY thing I could gripe about is the red button. It would be an easy fix, I'm really surprised they didn't do it.

And that box is beautiful!

I'm not keen on the box, i know its homage to the original but i was hoping for the artwork we seen in the promo images. Something colourful. The one we get kinda makes me think its a pop-up ad.

Im not too keen on the final product as it happens, when i ordered it at the time we didnt know the power crystal was amini and the box art but i took a risk before all the pre orders sold out. Im half torn to sell mine, but at the same time i think i might hang on to it incase we get a Dragon Buckler. If we get a Drgon Buckler than its a whole different story because then id actually like to display them as a pair. ( and wouldnt it be nice if the Dragon Buckler was chromed ? )

I don't mind things having non-show-accurate features provided they don't impinge on the show accuracy. So like the Game Mode on the Morphin' Brace doesn't harm anything else so it's a nice bonus. The Legacy Morpher played the theme song since that's what always played during the morph, so it's a nice thing to have.

That's kinda where I'm coming from. The Degitaizer and Chrono Changer had games that didn't affect anything too... that's fine. And like I said, the MMPR theme is fine on the Legacy Morpher as it has to be accessed a certain way.

It's just that, Sentai Changers have pretty much gone the route of phrases and sounds directly from the show, whereas PR adds a bunch of stuff for the kiddies. And I get it, it's directed at them, but the thing I hate about the Dino Charge Morphers is all the unnecessary "blah, blah" that it blabbers. It's kinda refreshing to just have something simple.

And I know that statement wasn't directed at me... just riffing off what you posted.

In defense of the morpher, the music was playing during every morph.
They did start just throwing it in with everything, I don't mind it in most but the Dragon Dagger would have been better to have Go Green Ranger than the MMPR theme.

I have a Brushed, a Chrome with BD15 labels and a spare brushed that I need to get gold chrome plates for. Not a big fan of the movie morphers either.

I thought it was an interesting choice because they used the brushed finish in the movie special.

Even as a kid, that would turn me off. If the characters say "unleash the power" and I'm playing with the morpher, then I want to say the line, not listen to the morpher's shitty version. "I haven't watched much of dino charge so idk what they say"

It's one of the cool things with Sentai changers, they do what the shows changer does and they all have a neat unique theme.
Us morphers all have the same crappy voice over

It's why I don't like Precure changers. When you use them you hear the characters saying the henshin and role call phrases. That's very annoying when you're trying to pretend YOU are the person. Likewise, stuff like the RPM Morphers all saying "Power Rangers Powering Up" is just stupid. Let us use the morphers properly.

It's why I don't like the Gosei Morpher. It's great as an anniversary item, but terrible as a representation of the morpher in the show. Most of the phrases it says aren't in the show, or are said by the rangers instead of the morpher, and there are loads of sounds in the show the morpher doesn't do (Where's my "Summon Skyship", Bandai?", and when the sounds did match they were obviously completely different recordings. The Super Megaforce morpher had a similar problem where it announced the team names but in the show it was silent. I did rather get the impression Saban and Bandai weren't talking to each-other make then.

It is just perfect in term of appearence, sound (identical to the series) or... boxart (identical to the original one) !

Enjoy K2eizo's review.

Two more reviews from toyhappy and Bonolenov:

It looks like there's a few pros and cons for me.

+ Replica box. Not exact but close
+ Henshin sound from the show
+ The Dino Crystal is really nice, even though it's not to scale
+ The cleaned up, plugged up back is very nice
- Two sounds and they're almost identical
- No theme
- Plain coin backs
- It still sucks that the other coins are sold separately
Neutral: The choice of using the Movie Morpher plates is an interesting one, especially since all the promo shots use the regular plates.

Well, glad I didn't spend money on this. There's nothing here that makes me want this more than the custom legacy morpher dino buckler I already have. The henshin sound is nice, but I'm not a fan of the chrome plates.

Isn't there a sticker missing across the top?

Lol, they put the cap there which would now prevent the sticker from buckling and tearing but the didn't put the sticker back?

Well, BD15 I'm going to need your assistance again.

While I did put in a preorder for the buckler and medal set, I agree with you. I like the henshin sound, though I had higher expectations for the sounds on a whole, and I don't really care for the full chromed out plates. I may end up keeping the medals and selling the buckler.

Both of the back stickers are present in the video SUNGEL posted, so hopefully the product won't be missing them.

Edit: Out of the 3 videos posted it looks like only the one has the missing sticker, so perhaps they just had a stroke of bad luck.

You could always ask on the board for a set of brushed metal plates.
I'm sure there are more then a few laying around from Starlight Studio Gold replacements.
You already spent $150+, whats another $20.

Oh ok silly me

How did that happen? Do you get a sticker sheet that you have to apply yourself and he forgot, or did that guy have bad luck in getting one without a sticker? Hmmm.

I would wager bad luck, the US version came preapplied and I didn't see a sticker sheet in any of the reviews.

Also, the other one was there...would be hard to forget the second if you had just applied the first.

I see what happened, the other sticker was applied to the other side of the handle for some odd reason....guess it was an assembly mishap. At least he got the sticker and can fix it.

I was hoping for 3 things: turning it on made the sound when they clicked their medals into the buckler, pushing the button played the henshin sound, and holding the button transitioned into the theme, as that is how it plays out in the first episode. I know the buckler isn't playing the theme as you said, but it still would be a nice addition.

As for the medals, I don't think it will hinder it in any way, the logo is probably recessed.

Nah, I don't like the brushed metal plates either. I prefer the V1 plates over all the others. They weren't full chromed, but they weren't brushed either. I also just bought another Legacy Morpher to replace my original one as it has the old electronics. I may keep the old one and just get some labels for that to be a buckler. Would be very cool if I could find someone to make custom electronics to actualize my expectations for the buckler and put them in place of the old ones.
