So I just won a Double X HG 1/144 kit of ebay for $17.50 shipped from Japan.

This is gonna be sweet!

Also bought 100 BBQ sticks, found a large block of foam, and about to get some alligator clips

Gave my roommate the extra parts from when I made my black/yellow gundam.

This is what he is doing with it.

Wings and something else are still being painted right now

Hey Gunpla fans, I'm planning my first custom Gunpla, with the Adele as the base, and edited a photo to make a preview of what I'm hoping it will turn out as, what do you guys think? I call it the Adele-Zero.

I'm also planning on making custom AGE-Wears parts for it, using parts from the Razor and the AGE-1 Normal, but I had a question, and the answer will determine how my Gunpla turns out, "Is it possible to plug the swords from the Razor-Wear into the backpack of the G-Exes?" I had the idea of using the G-Exes backpack to hold the Razor swords, freeing up the arms to hold the shield and the rifle.

So I picked this up at All-Con yesterday for $5

Got to work on it today after I got home from the con.

Now...doesnt that look a bit too clean?

Much better! Now off to clear coat it

Found this interesting piece of news an thought I'd share it with the other gunpla fans, starting this April over 400 Barnes and Noble stores across the country will begin stocking gunpla model kits from various series(such as UC, Wing, Build Fighters and more) and various scales. Really pumped up for this, hopefully they will also have Age and 00 kits as well.

Built Gundam X Maoh over the weekend:

Really fun build although the articulation was a little disappointing. Only 90 degree bends for the arms and knees though I assumed that the Gundam X kit that its based on is probably an older model. Also can't wait for the Crossbone Gundam Maoh to come out! Now on to the MG Sengoku Astray!

Put together Build Booster MK-II this morning and managed to jerry-rig it onto the Quebeley.

It looks right at home on Wing Gundam though.

Is there a market for "used" model kits? aka ones that have already been built?

Only started building again recently, after taking a break post-high school. (I'm pretty sure my last model was an off-grade 1/100 Launcher Strike Gundam) My first new one, a 1/144 HGUC Nemo, isn't bad but not one I'm particularly happy to snap a photo of, as he's mostly a test bed for techniques before I use them elsewhere. My real pride at the moment is a 1/100 MG Gundam X...

-No paint. I won't paint kits until I can manage to get an airbrush. I used to try and hand paint kits sometimes, but it never looked remotely acceptable.
-Panel lines and miscellaneous other details were done with a gray, fine tipped Gundam Marker. Some of the details and some of the lines were immediately brushed with a Q-tip following the marker application, as it often either muted the line/detail to make it less severe, and sometimes spread a simple shading effect to the surrounding plastic.
-Decals applied with the tip of an X-Acto knife, which was tricky at times, but overall successful. I do now have a small pair of tweezers for the same task, though.

Unfortunately at the moment, I'm too concerned about finances to purchase anything more, but hopefully it won't be too long before I grab some more MGs. For some reason this time around, I'm just not interested in HGs when there are great MGs out there, even at a higher price, though I do find myself interested in a few SDs. Hopefully my next kit will be an Exia or some version of the Astray Red Frame. Also, hopefully at some point I'll be able to get what I need to put together a custom idea that's been on my mind a lot lately, a Wing Zero Custom with more of a sword-based close combat setup and a dark, monochrome ninja-esque paint job.

So I bought the G05 Gundam MG kit back in '08 around the time I was in a motorcycle accident, and because I wasn't able to work on it much, it sat around partially built for nearly 6 years. Now that my buddy is watching and talking about the build fighters series, I started getting the itch to get back into gundam models again. Today I got an idea for the beam rifle that I think turned out pretty cool!

Then I got to work on the shield.

I'll jump back in and finish up his left arm tomorrow, and with luck I'll finish his detailing and get him cleared by the end of the weekend.

Took some photos of MG Sengoku Astray today after deciding not to put the decals on for now. Just wanted to share how awesome this kit is!

Ordered a HGCE Aile Strike and an SD Build Strike Full Package from Gundam Store and More this morning. Can't wait to piece them together. Anyone know how intense the painting will end up being on the SD kit? I remember my last SD kit years ago (GP02A Physalis) needing quite a bit if you didn't want to use stickers.
