DC Universe's Doom Patrol

Once again, despite no one seeing a single episode of the upcoming live action Teen Titans show, apparently a spin-off show has already been approved of said show. A show involving the Doom Patrol.

Picking up after the events of Titans, Doom Patrol will find these reluctant heroes in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but with warning that is hard to ignore: their lives will never, ever be the same.

I wish I could be mad, but more April Bowlby is always a good thing.

Not really familiar with them, so I'll have to be sold on them through their role in Titans.

And hey, Cyborg's around in some capacity!

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle from Michigan.

On one hand that Titans show looks underwhelming.

But on the other hand I'm glad Doom Patrol's getting it's own show.

OHSNAP, Cyborg? Can they do that? That's awesome!

They were the X-Men before the X-Men. But not as interesting.

Not that much before them, only by about three months. And the comparisons are easy to make. A team of misfit heroes, led by a man in a wheelchair, with enemies called the Brotherhood of Evil. (Of course, in X-Men's case, a word was added onto that name.)

Either way, don't we have enough shows centered around a team of superhuman misfits?

This trend is getting as cliched as 90's boy-bands.

Fair enough. I know Beast Boy was a junior member prior to his Titans membership; I know they were in the fifth season of the 00s cartoon, which I'd stopped watching by that point; and I know Grant Morrison had a particularly psychedelic run with them. That's pretty much it.

So, Doom Patrol was to 60s X-Men as The New (Teen) Titans was to Claremont's X-Men?

Not quite. Claremont's run ran from 1975 to 1991, New Teen Titans didnt start until 1980.

Ruining DCCU with too much spinoffs without worring about the prime heroes was not enough.

...we don't even know for sure of those and the Titans show are in the universe as the movies.

For now, everything seems to suggests that these are standalone.

I meant in how NTT was sort of DC's answer to Uncanny, through design or coincidence. But thanks for the dates, I can never remember when Giant Size #1 was.

Titans and Doom Patrol have nothing whatsoever to do with the DCEU.

Which is annoying considering Cyborg's involvement

We have a whole show about the Flash where the actor is regarded as generally BETTER than the one in the DCEU.

Hey, just do as I do and pretend the DCEU outside of WW doesn't exist

I feel the same as Tyler Hoechin's Superman compared to Cavill

They always blame it on "confusion"

Here's an article explaining why they couldn't use green hair or the name Joker in Gotham

http://metro.co.uk/2018/05/14/gotham...eason-7545454/

It's retarded that they try everything to avoid "confusion" of diffrent actors in the same role and keep giving it to us anyway. Make up your fucking mind

I really don't believe that "we can't use the green hair or the name The Joker" thing for a number of reasons.

I am curious to see which version of the Doom Patrol they use. Probably the original one but with Berlanti you never know.

Well the classic members have been casted for Titans, and this is a confirmed Titans spin-off, so we can assume they'll be there.
