One thing is, its so weird and surreal reading the VR Troopers and seeing the pictures of literal objects and to go to PRDT to see horrible CGI Zords.

Toei really should have waited a few years before full time switching to CGI Zords.
Dino Thunder wasn't the first PR series to use CGI for the Zords. That honour goes to Time Force, actually.

I wonder why they didn't block out the Japanese text at the top right of this scene from VRT #9 / Metalder #2? Seems like it would've been easy to do.

I wish Toei still didn't use CGI models. Toei's digital compositing is decent, but even in the most reason season, the CGI models leave a lot to be desired. The old physical model stuff was so much better.

I wondered that when taking the shot, but I guess because it looks like random computer text or something?

It's PR day, so why not make a return with a double update of PRDT #12 and #13?

SirStack, I love your site. It's VERY informative, especially when making the Rangerwiki pages for Original Zord Footage and Untransformed Sentai in PR. I know you helped personally when I emailed so double thanks and keep up the great work

Yeah, but it's probably cheaper and faster with CG. I know the digital is the reason we only got upscales for the blu-rays from Tim vs GoGoV to Bouken vs SS. THey've improved at least. Not a lot but it's not embaressing at least.

VRT never ceases to amaze me. I get crosseyed just thinking about their editing process.

This and the last three shots are inexplicably sourced from the opening credits!
While the longer-run is weird (and hilarious), I don't think this was uncommon. Particularly when watching in Space and Lightspeed, I notice the quality of the Morph footage decreases depending on the episode. It's like they sourced from a previous episode's master instead of a footage bank.

the world's slowest and most gentle high five.
Now I wish that scene was in the gag reel.

Glad to be of help. I'm happy there are now pages to keep track of such things.

Probably my biggest regret so far with Morphylogeny is crediting each individual morph sequence for PRiS and Zeo in every appearance. I only realized when doing VRT, particularly Grimlord's transformation sequence, that they likely put everything together one time and just used it repeatedly, not re-sourced it from scratch every episode. Ah well, something to fix one day (like updating the guide with the Zyu2 segments we didn't have then).

Oh, PRDT #14 is up now. Two shots made this episode take twice as long to do, as they required me to go over Aba entirely twice.

PRDT #15 is up. The simplest ones always throw a curveball by using the most episodes.

What the hell? This thread's been active since February and now it gets moved to the Adverts section?

Gotta echo this. If anyone gets a pass, it should be Stack.

RangerBoard is losing sight of what matters in favour or arbitrary organization.

Just going off memory, almost all reused footage runs shorter in subsequent uses. It's an exception to the rule when we get a 'full sequence' after it's been truncated.

The Space Morph, for example, kept getting shorter. Unlike Samurai, where the full sequence would pop up mid-season, older material seemed to source a cut sequence from previous episodes, unless it was an important character moment (or a short runtime).

I actually thought they'd banish me to the Youtubers forum (aka Advertisements) months back when I started posting updates to it. I even paid for VIP2 mainly on the notion that if they wanted to move the thread, I'd need to be such to keep it available. I'm fine with the move, since it's devolved mostly into me posting updates.

(I've actually considered doing a Youtube video detailing the process I go through in analyzing an episode. It sometimes takes me days to finish an episode, as you can tell by my updating schedule. It can take hours to find a single shot!)
