Fun Fact: That character, Doctor Minerva, is the only villain to have fought Mar-Vell, Carol Danvers, and Kamala Khan.

Brie Larson was an answer on Pointless this afternoon.

In a big ol' interview with Entertainment Weekly with Feige preceding Infinity War, the conversation naturally shifts towards Captain Marvel. During that segment, Feige explains a bit more on Nick Fury's role in the movie.
Q: I wanted to ask you a little more about Captain Marvel. It’s set in the 1990s. How does shifting that timeline back open up new storytelling for the MCU?

A: We wanted to explore a period before Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury had any idea about any of the other heroes and crazy stuff going on in the world. You know, we first met Nick when he told Tony, “You’re part of a big universe. You just don’t know yet.” Well, we want to go back to a time when he didn’t know it yet, and really showcase and announce that Carol Danvers was that first hero that Nick came across. That meant she could be the singular hero, but place it within timing of the MCU. It also got us talking about different genres, exploring this notion of sort of the ‘90s action film. We hadn’t necessarily done anything like that before either, so there are definitely homages to our favorite ‘90s action films within Captain Marvel.

Dewanda Wise is no longer attached to star in the film.

As much as I would love them to address Coulson being alive in the present in the movies (maybe have him show up in a cliffhanger ending for Infinity War part 1) , having him show up in the 90's in CM is bloody fantastic.

Until they figure out a way to address his current standing on the big screen, this is a fantastic way to get Phil back. Kinda nice to see older one and done villains return as well. Keeps this universe feeling more and more alive.

Additionally, Ronan and Korath from GotGvol1 will be making a return.

In the meantime, Marvel has released the first official plot synopsis.

Set photos are continuing to roll in. Getting a look at some of the characters' street clothing aka...uh..."90's period piece" costumes.

~Just as a reminder, in 2 years, the start of the 90's will have been 30 years ago!!!~

Jeans! As any Power Rangers fan knows, jeans were a must back then.

It’s crazy the 90s are considered a period piece now. Time flies man.

Holy shit, 30 years, goddamn, I'm not that old yet but I'm not far off. I'm getting more and more excited for Captain Marvel with each new bit of news. I will admit to having very basic knowledge of things to do with her though.

Not acid washed jeans but really light jeans to be precise

Gotta also remember even though it is the 90's. It is that the characters themselves aren't 90's kids. They'll have influence from the 70's and 80's the decades they grow up in. So while they're doing a good job keeping a 90's feel expect some 80's bleed over.

The green suit is a reference to the very first Captain Marvel design. I don't think we've heard anything about it being a trainee suit, but I'm pretty sure we can assume she'll get her more iconic suit for the final act at least.

Jackson already doesn't look his age half the time so it's easy to make him look 20 years younger. I'm curious to see how they do Coulson, cgi might be involved.

EDIT: Only now do I realize that Jackson's got the cgi marks on his face, so he'll look even more convincing, I've got bad eyes.

Disney's got the de-aging software down pat. Don't mess with Disney....

https://mcuexchange.com/clark-gregg-...aptain-marvel/

That was a fun call from my friends in the Cinematic Universe who I normally see at these events, saying, ‘You know, we think once again we have some work for you, but it takes place in the ’90s. Can you go to the gym?’ Yeah, I said, ‘The ’90s? I mean, there is no gym that can get me back to the ’90s.’ And they said, ‘Well, don’t worry. We’ve been working on that technology, and we think we can goose you back a few years.
It's so funny to hear it said so casually in Hollywood.

"Oh don't worry about how your neck looks on camera. They'll do some movie magic and get rid of those lines."

Anyways. I'm expecting the Sam Jackson from Pulp Fiction to return once all the CGI is done. It will be very convincing.
