Lloyd wasn't funny at all.

He is still filming some scenes for it. I would say he will be ready to release it around this time next year.
yeah his last big update on the movie showed a board of scenes that needed to be shot. He also said they were trying to do some post production stuff at the same time. So possibly within the next year - year and a half. But that's a very rough guess!

I never heard of Lloyd Kaufman or seen any of his movies, but he sure cracked me up in that latest vid.

I haven't watched the movie or cartoon, so like others I would have appreciated some background on the movie. From comments both here and on the video, this one seems to have really split the fans, with some really liking it and others thinking it was awful. I quite enjoyed it personally, mainly because I enjoyed the improvisational way it was made.

I can take a guess and say that its the same schtick done with other vids where he's with another person.

Those people like it when the vids are focused on the games, rather than the guest stars.

Eh, there are episodes with other people where the focus is on the game- Battletoads for instance.

I think it just depends on the content of the episode. There are plenty of times AVGN will be playing a game and then Motherfucker Mike is dressed as someone and there's a lot of interaction. Like the Batman review and Ninja Gaiden review.

I loved the Batman review, Mike does the Joker justice there XD. Also loved the 60s style Batman theme in that ep too. Also for some bizzare reason it made me want to check out Batman - Return of the Joker for NES and Batman Revenge of the Joker on Genesis, both good games though on Revenge the Gargoyle statues are cheap on the first level unless you can kick them to shatter them.

also who here has seen AVGN's four part Castlevania marathon? I thought it was funny how he was trying to avoid Castlevania 2 at the end of part 1, he also forgot a few Castlevania games such as Castlevania Adventure, Castlevania 2 - Belmont's Revenge, and Castlevania Legends on Gameboy/Gameboy Color. Castlevania Circle of the Moon, Castlevania - Harmony of Dissonance, and Castlevania Aria of sorrow on Gameboy Advance. He also missed Castlevania Portrait of Ruin and Castlevania Order of Eccesia on DS though he did cover Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow on DS, he also forgot Castlevania Chronicles on PS1 though he'd bring up the frustration factor as he did with Castlevania Dracula X for SNES which was an inferior port of Dracula X Rondo of Blood on Turbo CD. And he didn't mention Castlevania Symphony of the Night on Sega Saturn though I do understand if he never got those games in as he mentioned in his reviews on Sega CD and 32X about not reviewing games he doesn't have which he brought up games like Snatcher on Sega CD and Knuckles Chaotix on 32X

So, anybody ever find out where did the hair go?

Kaufman showing up for the episode was insane, quite the surprise, although I do consider this to be one of the weaker episodes.

All the other Castlevania games snip
That's because James reviewed the Castlevania games he himself played as a kid. And apparently, 1, 2, 3, Super IV, the crappy Dracula X, and the crappy 64 were the only ones he played.

Why he only did Bloodlines and Symphony of the Night in the last part of the retrospective is anyone's guess though. Maybe it's because they were around that "era" of games he reviewed. But then that doesn't excuse the 3 game boy games.

i really didnt like this last video, if you are a fan or kaufman it pandered to you, if not and you only have heard of him in passing, you were given no backstory and teh nerd just went for gross out humor over his usually foul mouthed angry persona-ed jokes when added to gross out humor usually end up being hilarious.

Say Hello to the Angry Video Game Nerdette!. James's daughter was apparently born a couple weeks ago, and was a really tough time for them because there were "complications" during birth. But they're fine now.

I can understand why certain people wouldn't like what they did with the last episode, but are there honestly people that are confused by why he did such a gross-out episode? It was in homage to Troma; you know... foul, disgusting, tasteless films? I mean, dislike it all you want, but at least understand there was a reason for it.

Also, congrats to James. I agree with what someone on FB said; hope they named her Zelda.

Toxic Avenger' Remake: Will Arnold Schwarzenegger Take on Troma?

Thought I would post this here.

What's weirder, that the former Governor of California might appear in "The Toxic Avenger," or that there's a 21st Century remake of the freaky underground favorite in the works?

The original "Toxic Avenger" was a low-budget, gross-out comedy about a nerd who mutates into a gnarly superhero and takes on the bad guys of Tromaville, NJ. Although it's not clear which part Arnold Schwarzenegger is in talks to play, this is indubitably an odd move for the former Terminator. Heck, it's an odd move to reboot this for today's audience, even with an updated story: to wit, "an average teen joins an environmental club to impress his crush. While doing some investigating at a waste plant, he is thrown into a tub of waste and transforms into a radioactive hero."

Writer and director Lloyd Kaufman and his studio, Troma Entertainment, have been an endless font of modern B-movie madness since the '70s. Movies like "Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead" and "Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D." have been delighting weirdos around the world, but none of the Troma titles have been particularly successful. Then again, when Hollywood is busy conjuring movies about board games, maybe something this strange is just what the doctor ordered.

"Hot Tub Time Machine" director Steve Pink is sharing screenwriting duties with Daniel C. Mitchell. Pink, who also wrote "Grosse Pointe Blank" and "High Fidelity," will direct. All of Pink's most famous movies star John Cusack, so let's hold out a tiny spark of hope that maybe, just maybe, he'll do a small cameo.

In the meantime, Schwarzenegger has a busy dance card. He's taken on the role of group executive editor for Muscle & Fitness and Flex magazines, and has a number of other movies in development.
