Well And he had a sense of humor and was useful and likeable. He was Stiles's "straight man" in their comedic scenes together. Sadly, everything else you said is pretty true.
I pray the creator's promise holds true and Danny is supposed to return at some point.

So despite what the article may imply, I'm pretty sure this Kevin is closer to Danny. I mean, there's no mention of him being sassy or prissy outside of insults lobbed at him; it's just pointed out that he has a presence in the show beyond the Magical Queer.
*slaps forehead* I forgot all about the Colliver. I really need to start watching that series from the beginning.

I hope you're right. The article did mention that script may turn out different in execution. So often that is the case with gay love plotlines ending up sordid or "wrong" in some way. Like when Mason gets together with Corey- That still felt 'wrong' somehow. That even felt true of Danny/Ethan (as much as it pained me).

Teen Wolf's Marisol Nichols will play Hermione Lodge.

It appears Veronica's father has been incarcerated for the time being.

Oh, let's pray that when Mr. Lodge finally does show up, it's Bryan Cranston.

I don't mind the show going dark, but at least make it a fun kind of dark, like how Buffy and Angel did it. Those shows could get brutally dark, but still make you smile at some of the insane stuff that was going on at the same time.

I can't believe Veronica's mother is going to kill her to get her werecoyote powers back

So, the only major characters left to cast are Moose, Reggie, Kevin, the other two Pussycats, and I'm assuming Sabrina.

And Dilton, I would imagine. And Weatherbee and Grundy - I would say that they're more important to the comic than the parents.

It's been more than 20 years since I forst saw Twin Peaks but I still can't get used her name, that's the dumbest name EVER! It's like her parents saw a random word, had no idea what it means and just decided "We'll call her that!".
Who in their right mind names their daughter "girl"?

But I like her as an actress so it's I'm happy she's joining a show I'm interested in.

Which is weird because in the rebooted comics, Weatherbee and Grundy have both had a very minimal role so far (I can't speak for Jughead's series, I haven't read it past #1). Veronica's dad is the only adult so far to have a huge chunk of screentime given to him outside of Archie's dad coming and going every so often.

That's a good point. In the reboots we've been focusing directly on the kids and haven't had to deal with many adults at all, except for Lodge and Pop Tate (they gotta have Pop Tate!). I was thinking back to the original series, though, where most of the stories took place at the school and therefore often had staff present.

Then there's the Afterlife series where Grundy and Weatherbee die in the very first issue, along with Jughead's parents. By the time the first arc ends, only Mr. Lodge, his butler and Archie's mom are the only adults left.

Don't think Sabrina will be in this series, unless they do a one off Halloween special and feature her.

Ah, chest wax. I guess they're going full twink with Kevin. Makes sense, I suppose.

EDIT: And I guess we missed this one: http://www.comicbookresources.com/ar...e-moose-dilton

Reggie, Moose, and Dilton cast.

Actually they're just doing the regular tv teenager thing, they never seem to have facial or chest hair although in real life many male teenagers are quite hairy. I'm pretty sure the entire male cast of Riverdale will have their chests waxed.

Loving the cast. Hoo-rah, asian representation in Riverdale! And Kevin and Moose look very appropriate as well. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

This is a rather strange idea. Is Archie Comics okay with it?

Of course they're okay with it, why wouldn't they?

Well, they're known for being very wholesome and this show sounds dark.
