"Alternate timeline/universe" means the movie's setting is drastically different from the series' setting, but they're connected through time travel or otherwise thematically.

"Out of continuity" means the movie's setting is rather similar to the series' setting, but the order of events creates a contradiction.

Feel free to fill in the blanks or give suggestions.

But yeah Ataru I wouldn't watch SHT until you watch Gokaiger. It's just more fun and ridiculous that way. Especially the whole thing with Joe and Daiki acting depressed because their husbando's betrayed them.

First: yeah, I said "proper Gokaiger watch" because the way I did Gokaiger back when I first got into Sentai is not proper: find raws/subs/whatevers and watch it. Not to mention I stopped after the Go-Onger two-parter...so basically I was more watching Gokaiger for novelty while I was getting more in-depth with serious Sentai watches.

Second: surprised Wizard's here considering we have one more episode of main story left (and the two episodes transitioning into Gaim while working as a bit of an "anniversary of Heisei" considering the villain took it's name from Kuuga's stone) Honestly once this weekend rolls around, Wizard is fine for the thread I say.

Finally: Honestly I sort of owe it to myself to see OOO mostly due to wanting to finish W's story and the elements that are brought about here. Sure there are things I will have little concept of ("All Riders" mostly though most of their stuff is cameo outside a major Den-O thing) but with the connection I just found it easier. Though I don't really have any thought of doing Fourze after OOO or anytime in the near future. (when I do get back to Rider, I honestly want to try something a bit older and was seriously thinking Skyrider; a friend mentioned Black as possibilitybut I read one toku fan say that Rider stuff always gets good whenever revived and I sort of want to see the first time in the late 70s...well that and I want to find time to find and watch the Shin movie)

Well, there's still a Wizard thread, but it's filled with talk of the most recent episodes now, since it's almost over, so I don't see why you can't discuss it here, if you're just starting.

OOOs is pretty good. Tacobar. Date. Cake Boss. DOKTAH MAKI! It's full of fun. I didn't really care about the enemies though. Well besides Ankh of course. The other greeeds never really interested me.

W has more connections to Fourze than to OOO in spite of the W/OOO movie (W and W related villains also appear in the OOO/Fourze movie too).

OOO is probably my favorite of the Neo-Heisei riders. And you could really just watch the W part of Movie Wars Core, the rest doesn't matter to W. Not even the final bit. I really find Core to be the weakest one despite W and OOO being two of my top 3 riders.

Yeah but I sort of just feel like I need to see OOO for some reason. Fourze probably is good but I just don't have any enthusiasm to see that just yet...or for a while. I want to see some older series (original series, Skyrider, Black) and maybe some other Heisei eras (Faiz, Hibiki, Den-O...I'd say Kiva but honestly that is another where I rather see the series before first) before I think about Fourze. It does look neat with the high school concept but the switches seem cumbersome and the suit doesn't do it for me (plus some of what people said about it meandering around a bit and rushing when the endgame approaches)

Kiva's the other member of my top 3, it's really good, and the first Kamen Rider I watched on my own. I watched W because a friend had me watch Fourze, and I hated it at the time, so he had me watch W instead. Faiz and Hibiki..... eh. Both of them kind of drag to me.

Now that there's a new thread, it's about time for me to start Faiz.

Kamen Rider Ryuki: Episode Final
The Rider Fight ending in that universe was a moot point at the end of the movie: Yui had died, and Shiro had no reason to continue it. The true ending of the movie was actually revealed in the credits: the scene with the young Kanzaki siblings wasn't a flashback, it was another alteration of history created by the Time Vent Card. It parallels the change of events at the end of episode 28 (which is roughly when the movie was released, by the way) - Shiro wanted to correct history by preventing Yui from getting trapped in Mirror World that day, but still ultimately failed.

It's interesting to note that the main protagonist and the main antagonist of the series are Shinji and Shiro, both of which start with "shi". The pun on shi/death isn't a coincidence.

Oh, and don't take the movie continuity so seriously. Movie Wars Core kind of contradicts Gotou's character development, Let's Go Kamen Riders screws up everyone's timeline and still manages to be inconsistent with Den-O's time travel logic, and none of the movies fit neatly with the timing of who possess which medals.

I need a new Rider to watch. I'm at 9 right now and I really want to have 10 under my belt before Gaim comes out. I think it's gonna have to be Agito, so is that series subbed, and is it entertaining?

Yup, Agito is fully subbed by GomenRider.

I haven't got to it myself, since I'm holding out until I finish Kuuga. Although I know some have gone as far as calling it Toshiki Inoue's magnum opus, but I can't say if that's true or not.

So I finished all of the regular Den-O now. I watch Climax Deka, and Final Countdown yesterday. Both was pretty good. I would give the edge to Deka as my favorite of the 3 movies for the last scene alone. I started watching Decade to get ready for the Chou Den-o series.

Chou Den-O has nothing to do with Decade though. Other than his bit in Onigashima and Episode Yellow. You could watch Red and Blue without Decade though.

Actually the movie doesn't even use Den-O's time travel logic despite Den-O's primary involvement with the story. Den-O's my favorite series and even I recognize that the movie, shall we say had severe problems.

Actually The Den-O two parter in Decade leads directly into Onigashima. Plus Episode Yellow finishes a minor story that runs through the trilogy. Admittedly more of a joke than anything, but if he liked Den-O's humor he'll probably like it.

Huh? The climax of the movie, when the Riders return in spite of how they shouldn't exist in the new timeline because people remembered them by seeing heroic Riders again is pretty much Den-O time travel logic. Memories are time, and so if someone remembers the altered past it can recovered, even if it was physically altered due to time travel.
