Yes, but I modified him pretty significantly.

I like to start with scaling a rough form before adding details. Think I'm gonna make it 3 mm shorter.

A figure customizing project that had been in the works for a while now - repainting of the 5" Power Rangers 2017 Movie line by Bandai.

I already had a full set of these guys, but then came across another that was dirt cheap and thought it'd be a neat project.

My first attempt at doing a black-wash (which was a pain, since the sculpt details on these guys are so soft) and then adding additional detailing, mostly silver highlights. And a WHOLE lot of red on Alpha 5 (whose limbs and back were completely gray). The Rangers themselves were the 6-pack version.

Not perfect, but definitely more movie-accurate than the stock figures and I had fun doing them. Might go back to them and clean up the finer details at some point. Goldar too...

P.S. The Megazord also desperately needs better paint, but I've only got one of those and dare not risk ruining it XD

Diplodocus Megazord

Finally finished my DX Dino Charge Diplodocus Megazord, based on the official Titano Megazord, new accessory parts to remove/disguise the other guardian Dinoís and head enlarged from the Bandai of America minizord.

A few more pictures are on my facebook page

Still need to finish Kentrosaurus, Deinonychus, Allosaurus and Victory!

Looking damn fine! Helmet is a little too dark (that was the obvious flaw with the JF figure though) any plans on repainting it as well?

I just realized, I can't wait to see if you ever do anything with the lightning collection figures. Oh the possibilities.

That's actually accurate to how the suit appeared in Gekiranger

Nope, I painted it this color on purpose. Used four different shades and tints of purple specifically for different parts. The bodysuit is a more reddish purple. The gloves and boots are slightly lighter purple than the helmet. The gong changer is metallic purple.

*sniff* I'm... I'm so ashamed! I should've known that, but instead I look like a fool. A fool I say! I humbly return my fan card, and begin my walk of shame.

King, I appreciate your commitment to show accuracy, but I never could get over the conflicting shades for Geki Violet. But thatís Toeiís fault. Still, marvelous work as always. If you ever decided to, Iíd love to see you tackle one of the Livemen. Specifically, Yellow Lion.

Hold your head up high, sir. I appreciate criticism even if it is wrong.

I appreciate the compliment and I believe the conflicting purples is more of a medium issue and would likely fall on the shoulders of the prop company (Rainbow). Purple is a difficult color to match from a woven fabric to vinyl fabric to solid surface item. At least the failure of Gekiviolet's colors matching made for the success of future purple rangers like Kyoryu violet.

So i came across this idea, for quite some time, but i had some snag around the process.

I want to make a fully posable, minipla sized Juusho Fighter/ Battle Borgs. The heads is easily purchasable as i bought a double Shogunzord miniplas, however the head part is very small and i didn't know what base figure to use as a custom, but i make some calculation, and pardon for my metric based calculation, the proper body is 6 cm tall figure.

Any ideas to find a 2.3 inches figurines that posable? or should i make my own base body?

How did you paint the elbow joints ? Every time I try, the paint peels when I flex the arm.

It definitely is a process to paint elbows and knees. I usually start with sanding the entire joints. Then, I soak it for a short period of time in lacquer thinner. After that I apply a really thin layer of primer usually 1000 grit or higher to the surface and then a light coating of the color. Afterwards, if necessary, I will either sand the inside of the upper arm where the elbow joint would rub OR I'll coat the surface of the paint with a slow-drying super glue with a soft throwaway brush. For a knee, I might try sanding in similar locations known for rubbing.

It's hit or miss, though, and the extra work is no guarantee that the paint will forever stay on the elbows or knees.

For now I think it's a miss, but I tried and hopefully it doesn't show.

My latest work.
Does anyone know if the Hyper armour from the vinyl figure is not too big for a Figuarts ?
