Stage shows are just fun little diversions. They can be canon if they don't directly contradict the shows, sure, but are never necessary viewing. I'm not sure if the shows have ever referenced them - the closest I can think of is Ultraman Orb - he had a form that went game--> stage show --> proper appearance , and that's a whole different company and a pretty surface-level reference.

It's a fun little moment but the general opinion is that it was just the actor improvising.

Stage show always have power-ups and fanservice. Keiichiro/Kairi was a fan favorite ship, so they probably did that just for the fun. Don't expect this to be mentionned again in a VS or anything.

Out of curiosity, how do stage shows handle more special effects heavy parts like transformations and mech fights (if at all)?

I know the Power Rangers live show at least just played those on a monitor above the stage as a separate video but Iím not sure how the Sentai ones do it.

From what I saw, in the case of the core Lupat teams, they showed them doing the sequence, then they lowered this traslucid curtain, lights out, morph sequence in a video, then light back on and they are transformed. On X's case, it was different, with Noel doing the sequence, then jumping to the side of the stage and coming back morphed as PatranX. Then, when changing to LupinX, they did it in the middle of the stage, with this things rolling to the stage.

Do Sentai stage shows ever do mech fights? If so, how do those work?

It's kind of... not totally low budget, but a stage show's still a stage show. Build Final Stage just cut the lights completely and played the noises. I think they also try to work round it a lot - so a character will often come on stage already transformed, even if that show does have the live actor. I found a Wizard one where they cut the lights again, but showed his magic circle on the back screen.

Found a ToQger one where they do something similar to the LuPat one - it looks almost like a curtain on a very long rod. So, a red ToQ1 banner comes on and covers 1gou Red, then a blue 1 banner drops down in front of that, then it slides away to reveal 1gou blue. Nice effect

Never seen them do a mech battle. They absolutely could, if the suits aren't too fragile, but they may think a human-sized mecha would be underwhelming.

I don't care if it's mentioned but I'm taking it as canon XD. Pleases my shipping heart.

Way better pairing than Gao Blue and Gao Black. Or Gao Silver and Gao God.

...Gaoranger was an odd one.

Interesting that they take it into "Foe Yay" territory, contrasting with the much more committed partners like Sion and Domon, or Monster and Jyuoh, or Akira and Omotesando... eh, that last one isn't so much an alliance as it is hilariously creepy.

Okay Just watch the final stage show.

If It is canon that means all of the ganglers are still alive (not sure about Zamigo)
