I hope Bill stays, if she ends up being good. I dont think there's a reason to think it will refresh everything.

And yes. While they shouldn't choose a woman or a minority to play the Doctor just because, I think it's time (and space) to change it up.

BBC America will air Class right after Doctor Who Series 10.

Dunno about "hawt heartthrob", but there was that rumour before about the BBC wanting to go for a more Tennant-like Doctor - a little younger, dashing, perhaps more human. I wouldn't be too surprised to see someone more along those lines.
The show needs fangirls back to make all those youtube videos with some sappy song attached.

Hurr-hurr! Get it? Because the song says "Rose"!

I was mainly addressing that there does seem to be suggestion of a younger actor, but not necessarily a heart-throb. Not to say they won't necessarily go that way. (And even if he is even somewhat attractive, heaven help us if they do it knowingly to attract more Tumblr fangirls. XD)

Someone on that TrekBBS site suggested Eva Green as next Doctor. I can't imagine her doing it, but she'd certainly be one of my female Doctor picks. Phenomenal.

I think Calpadi's run has been amazing. But no doctor or companion ever stays forever.

Not a good week for Doctor Who fans is it?

Has the next DWM gone to press yet? That's TWO major news stories in the last few days. If it's already at the printers, it'll be outdated on day one!

This makes me sad. I know Capaldi was gonna have to leave at some point. But he's my favorite Doctor, and I really wanted to see what he could do WITHOUT Moffat.

As soon as I came home from work, all i saw the biggest headline - Peter leaves his role at the 2017 Christmas. I was like... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

But eventually he made his decision and I respected that. I would LOVE to see him doing one more series under Chris Chibnall AND break the Troughton rules. Seriously, I really hope that the next actor who takes the role will have to stay at least 4 series.

Once again, hats off to Peter Capaldi for a wonderful portrayal of the Doctor! Let's begin the searching for the new Doctor now officially!

Well, consider me genuinely gutted. Peter's a damn good actor but I feel like his tenure on the show has been rough so far. From the initial backlash over his casting from viewers who decried him for not being some youthful piece of eye-candy, to The Doctor being shoved into the background of Series 8 so that the writers could over-compensate for Clara being nothing more than a plot device throughout her appearances in Series 7, to most of the stories he's been dealt so far frankly being wank (The Return Of Doctor Mysterio couldn't have felt more like a leftover Matt Smith script if it tried, and don't even get me started on Hell Bent). I can only hope, vain of me though it might ultimately be, that the end of Series 10 gives him a decent send-off.

I don't why, but I wouldn't mind seeing Richard Armitage as the Doctor.

And if its a female Doctor, Hayley Atwell

We should all be good at betting now on how long people cast as NU Doctor's stay. 3 seasons and they're out.

Ignore all the B.S about "i'll be here for a long long long time"

Actually 3 seasons is a good amount to get comfortable in the role

-1st year introduce the doctor. Work out all the spots that need to be ironed out

-2nd year get more comfortable. The previous doctor's era is slowly fading away or almost all gone.

-3rd year. The actor is comfortable and has made it his own.

We really get a beginning, middle and end.

But... we need an actor to break the Troughton Rule! The above statement is really true because of what other actors including Capaldi have done past 'till now.

I'm sad to see Capaldi go for a couple reasons: he was the first Doctor I got to watch from the beginning. For 9/10, I caught all of their adventures in retrospect, on streaming media. For 11, he was already nearing his swan song when I came onboard. In fact, although I had been hovering around the series for awhile, it wasn't until the lead up to the 50th anniversary did I finally decide to take the plunge and get into the series from the start of nuWho.

12 was supposed to become "my" Doctor. I really wanted to love him. But for some reason, his stories just never clung to me. I liked it fine, but last season I missed a couple episodes and just didnt care. Capaldi has definitely had his moments, but that's it: just moments. I can't remember too many whole episodes which I found particularly iconic; maybe 1 or 2 off the top of my head [granted, I'm coming off a short illness so I am pretty tired]. 9 has couple. 10 has a bunch. 11's got some too. I'm sad because I feel like 12 shouldve done so much more given Capaldi's acting abilities already. Here's hoping this last series will make good on that potential.

He might actually get a chance to shine without Clara dragging him down.

I had no idea there was a new spin off show, I'll have to find a way to check it out.

And just because I've had a run of the most godawful luck starting in November and getting so much worse in December, it completely slipped my mind, but was there a Christmas episode for 2016? The last thing I watched was The Husbands of River Song (and episode where I actually almost liked River)

And here, in a nutshell, is the problem with Class's marketing. Even an established fan who follows online info didn't know about it.
